Talk about secession all you like, but there isn't going to be a Civil War.

I'm seeing a lot of comments today along the lines of, " The red states should consider secession", and "Civil War 2 is coming".

To those saying such things: I can only hope that you're self-aware enough to realize that you're simply venting. There isn't the slightest chance that the US is going to break up in the next 4 years because of the re-election of Obama.

On the off-chance I'm wrong, please contact me in advance of your attack on Fort Sumter.

Step one would be for each state to organize credible state parties like SNP or the PQ to elect to their state legislators. From there you then start electing members to Congress with no other instructions but to not bring back any federal edicts and to constantly advocate for more autonomy.

Canadians moan about Quebec’s “stubbornness” to protect it’s language and culture but they get the job done and the people there 95% of the time are happy with it.

Eventually each state will have a similar setup. Parties that dont represent some broad spectrum of social causes, but only the interest of the state they are from and maintenance of the constitution between them and the other states. We can then go back to the states appointing Senators. There wont be “majorities” in the House anymore as no state’s party will intertwine with another. States will start voting as complete blocs, maybe as regions on occasions.

Catalonia wants to leave Spain because they generate more taxes but it is taken by the rest of the country. Here in U.S. they plan on taking it down to the local level by taking suburban taxes for the cities. And I won’t be surprised when Obama makes everyone bail out Public Employees pensions in States like CA and IL.

The people that believe “the nation will survive this” don’t have a clue as to what just happened. The nation is already gone. 0bamacare will destroy the country financially. The demographics show that we are overwhelmed and the leftists will only get stronger and bigger. The new regulations will prevent any further growth or innovation. Dissenting voices will be stifled and no one will hear the truth. New laws will criminalize any behavior the left deems subversive. 0bama will further consolidate power and soon render Congress and the Constitution obsolete. There is NO WAY this can be avoided now. There is no way to undo this. Any attempt to take away the “free stuff” will result in the same massive riots the the EU is suffering. The only options are to live with the boot on your neck or leave. Secession is the only answer for those wanting freedom.

So there are only two questions left. Will 0bama send the military to force us back? Questionable. Will the military act on 0bama’s orders? Doubtful. If both turn out to be yes then there will definitely be another war against the states and I will gladly give my life for my childrens freedom.

Even if the government nationalizes everything and orders us back to work, we work like a good Soviet Comrade.

You mean, we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us?

King George the third probably sat on his thrown and thought it was completely illegal what those colonists were up to.

The USSR broke up into individual states, independent states. No wars. Nothing. What can we the people do here. Where is your imagination.
“when in the course of human events...” Beautiful words follow with striking impact. It is our duty to secede. Then both halves of our country could be happy instead of only one half of us.

When Texas or any other state joined the union, I suppose you contend, it was tantamount to joining the Mafia. You can opt in but not out.

Your lips to God’s ears, as the saying goes. However, the problem here in the USA, unlike in Canada, is that both “parties” (and I see the US as a de facto ONE party state, the party having two wings called ‘rats and Pubs) have rigged election laws in all 50 states (and these are state laws, not federal) so well, that it’s very difficult for a real 3rd party to even get on a ballot. Worse still, you have an archaic winner-take-all electoral college that makes voting for a 3rd party presidential candidade (and this person would be the standard bearer for a 3rd party) pointless. So you need two things, one is loosend electoral laws that put 3rd parties on an equal footing with Demopublicans, and the other would be PROPORTIONAL electoral college. I’m not holding my breath for either one of these things.

It means that you accept their rules and will adjust your lifestyle to minimize their impact.

Everyone of us will have to make that decision. Do we cower and obey? Do we live in the margins and try to avoid confrontation? Or do we stand against tyranny and start over with those of like minds in a place where we set the rules?

Until their half discovers there is no one left to pay for their free stuff.

We don’t have to attack anyone. We can just close the borders and make it a crime to obey Federal laws or pay Federal taxes.

Their rules are: TAX the producers give it to the takers.

I can produce and limit my tax liability. New pair of shoes? not that important. New car? it can wait. Blockbuster movie just released starring that actress that told me to vote for Obama? don’t think so.

It’s the only voice I have - to find a way to limit the money they confiscate. Congress will roll over - that’s a given. Obama is a lame duck and has nothing to lose. In a world where hard work and individual achievement have no value - the only objection I can muster is to leave the system and let them find a way to fund their folly.

" Talk about secession all you like, but there isn't going to be a Civil War."

Wanna' bet? And it won't be "civil" either.

Just wait until the printing press in DC stops.
