What the hell happened?

Posted on 11/06/2012 10:15:36 PM PST by Perdogg

What the hell happened? Can someone explain to me what happened? I live in NoVa. I saw no OFA ground game none. Nothing. I do not understand why there was a D+6 turn out. What happened to the Indies?

The smart guys putting their money where their mouths are knew the true character of the American people, true moochers, losers, and cretins. When you are laying out real money there is no time for fantasies of hard working virtuous people roaming the fruited plain. What you see is evident in every Walmart from coast to coast, fat, lazy, slobs.

Same thing as in 2008. “Purist” swine get together and form a coalition of leftists, jihadists and nazists to defeat the hated GOP. That was a group led by a Libertarian known as “John Deere”, and they earlier (late 2003) set up the AQ insurgency in Iraq.

You sectarians have always been Hanoi Janes.

Bill O'Reilly was right: the people will vote for whoever will give them free stuff.

Face it: we now live in a nation of freeloaders who hate us. The American people are obviously tired of having to decide things for themselves and want a king to take care of everything. That king is the government, taking more and more from the rich to hand it over to the "poor" (after passing through the government's hands first, of course).

What they do not realize, but will only after it's too late, is that there will be fewer and fewer rich to take from, as the rich will either work out tax laws to their benefit or leave the US. And then where will the American people be? Sitting on a pile of natural resources they will have neither the will nor the means to defend.

I think the only really way to know is to go congressional district by congressional district and look at turnout and who won. I think if you do that for FL, CO, OH, VA, you will see where this election turned.

I agree it is hard to understand why Romney was not able to turn more than IN and NC, pending FL of course. For example in VA Romney had to close about a 225,000 vote gap. He closed the GAP to 62,000 votes. In 2008 there were 3.7ish million votes. This year it is about 3.5ish million votes. As of what I can find now, Romney has not topped the vote total in VA of McCain. So was his ground game now what it was cracked up to be? The Obama vote in VA is down about 150,000 votes, but again Romney is 25,000 below McCain leaving the GAP. So where did that happen? Where was the turn out low?

Last time I checked McCain lost. Did I miss something?

He won the red states by large margins. Palin lost him the swing states. I like her personally, but she has no influence outside of hardcore conservatives. She's also got lousy political judgment. Her 2010 Angle and McDonnell endorsements cost us two senate seats we could have won.

Nail on the head. What we thought as conservatives to be a bad thing was aspired to by the slobs who are the majority in this once great country.

A legitmate question. Poll after poll showed Romney leading with independents. Also, McCain received 59 million votes 4 years ago, will Romney even get that? I guess now we can finally realize that crowd sizes dont matter, and yard signs...all that anecdotal crap doesnt matter.

What happened? = America is under the direct judgment of Almighty God, that's what happened and will continue to happen.

Some are already playing the blame game but the reality is: The problem with the results of this election do not rest with Romney, nor Ryan, Barone or Morris. Romney and Ryan are honorable and good men (as men count goodness)and they ran an admirable, hard-fought campaign.

The problem rests with us, it is one of the heart and soul of America itself. We have forsaken Christ, and forsaken His Word. God did not have mercy and deliver us. I believe we are under the judgment of Almighty God as a direct result of our ongoing lawlessness, ungodliness and sin. He has given America over to our sin and degradation (cf. Romans 1:18-32)and we have reached the tipping point of no return as a nation. I do not want to say these things, it breaks my heart because I, along with millions of other believers love America, but God is not mocked:

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:7-10) As a man sows, so shall he reap and we are reaping now what we have sown. Pray because at this point, the very existence and future of our nation rests in the hands and predetermined will of God. Romney, Ryan, no mere man or party can save America and her people, only the Lord Jesus Christ.

If the outcome of this elections stands (and it appears it has) and Obama gains reelection (and it appears he has), we are about to enter the refining crucible of Almighty God as a result of our sin and God's divine judgment as a nation and as individuals. The key is to know and stay close to/walk with the Lord Jesus in the midst of it all and to stay faithful to Him because things are going to get very bad from here on out. This was prophesied in the Word of God and we are privileged to see these harrowing events come to pass: "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man." (cf. Luke 17:26-33)

Those of us who know the Lord Jesus must follow the injunction to: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall make your path straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

Take heart, and find your hope and strength in the Lord Jesus Christ because He is coming back sooner than many people are willing to recognize or accept. Maranatha!

Yes, we have voted ourselves into Socialism. We have voted ourselves into destruction.

We got exactly the government we voted for.

“The Mayans were right!”

I sure hope so. I am looking forward to December whatever it is until the end of the world. I can’t take four more years of that s.o.b. and his snarky wife.

Keep on thinking that. A “true” conservative would have won how much of the black and Latino vote to make up the difference?

I recall the GOP congressional revolution led by Newt. He and his pals moved in a turned into bigger spenders than the Dems they replaced. Fiscal conservatives simply do not exist. They will claim to be, but once they taste they $$$ they can’t help themselves.

And a social conservative is NOT going to win, ever again. Book It!!!

I disagree strongly with what you said.

Had we run Palin rather than whatshisname, with the same running mate - we would have won.

I do not like the fact we were led around for a while before she changed her mind, but Palin is head and shoulders above anyone else on our team.

Period.

Romney was a stalking horse. The backup choice in case we rejected obamacare, we would still get romneycare.

It is all theater.

Quite simple, the GOP needs to drop the social zealots and stop ignoring the minirities.

That's what it did this time. How'd that work out for you tonight?

The conservative media also lives in a bubble, and suffers from group think. This idea that giveme states would turn back against Obama and vote for Mitt were joke predictions. Just like the stupid line, that everybody I know voted for blah.

You can say that again. Romney does his final event in NH in an auditorium with 10,000 capacity. He fills it up and conservatives think he's got the air of a winner. Obama fills half of a 20K arena, and conservatives think that shows he's on the way out. But both of them have roughly the same number of people in the audience. This is groupthink at its worst.
