Dozens of National Guardsmen, and Army and Air Force personnel who have been sleeping at Manhattans Lexington Armory in between hurricane-relief shifts are being booted to make room for Victorias Secret models in anticipation of Wednesdays runway show.

“National Guard on disaster relief booted from their own HQ?”
I’ll bet that Victoria’s Secret is a paying customer. That’s the main reason Bloomers did not want to cancel the NYC Marathon. The city lost the $340 million the marathon committee was paying. Similarly, I’d bet Bloomers does not want to lose whatever rent the runway show is paying, even if that means relief crews (for whom the armory was built) get booted and NYC citizens end up suffering as a result.
Liberal “values.” Let’s go sluts! National Guard and flooded, not so beautiful people? Git outta here!
I’m sure the Guard would agree to share bunks...
Does the picture rule apply to this thread? And no, not pictures of Guardsmen.
Was just about to suggest they share the rooms... nothing like hot-racking with a Victoria’s Secret model...
One way or another, this would have a detrimental effect on the models’ “beauty sleep”.
The “other side” of this story is that apparently it was the show producers who got the power going in the armory, because they were already there doing show prep:

So maybe they earned bumping the guys for a bit.

He is the CIC for the National Guard in New York. We as Americans need to boot out all Socialist/Democrats.Cuomo is another worthless Leader.
I get it, it’s all about PRIORITIES!
No. they did NOT earn the right to bump them.
Half naked women, while nice to look at are NOT a need.
Housing for those affected by the storm and the people working to help those people come first.
Naked women can wait.
sesssh
So the fact that if it wasn’t for this show the guardsmen would not have electricity mean nothing? They get bumped for one day and in exchange they get electricity for the duration of the relief effort. Really it’s a pretty good trade.
(Sorry fellas) Geeeez can this town *get* anymore vapid & shallow?
Admittedly, the entire world laughs at us (for this fiasco “federal response” to the big storm, and for a dozen more things nowadays). But, hey, if you succeed in getting the National Guard back into their building, send the Victoria”s Secret models to me!
There now, all problems are solved.
See how easy that was?
(Time for a new federal government! Vote vote vote!)
I left the New York City area in 1988 due to the area’s messed up values (MONEY! POWER! IMAGE!....wood, hay, stubble). The Guardsmen and the rest of New York are not important because they are not the “beautiful people”. The place continues to be dominated by vapid shallow phony limousine liberals. Good riddance! Go to Hell, Bloomingidiot, for I have gone to TEXAS!
No it does not mean nothing. However, it should not be “we’ll give you light, Just go away for a day or two” It should be “your doing such a great job, we got the lights turned on for you”.
Plus, I’d be the guard has generators.
Who got pushed off so that this show could get their lights turned on?
Yeah!.. Wait, what... :)
They could always put on a show for the Guard..
