There’s no crying in Spying!!!!!
Does Bond really cry in this one?????
The Vatican jumps the shark?
As the new Bond film Skyfall opened in Italian cinemas, the Vatican paper of record said it was one of the best of the 23 Bond films that have been made since the franchise began 50 years ago.
The paper stopped short of proclaiming 007 a Catholic hero, as it did with Homer Simpson two years ago, but it did laud the latest incarnation of Bond as being "more human, capable of being moved and of crying: in a word, more real".

Lets face it, James Bond movies have been nothing but live action cartoons for some time now. But, hey, if someone is willing to suspend disbelief to enjoy some mindless entertainment for a couple of hours then more power to them. Nobody owes anyone an explanation for how they spend their entertainment dollar.
Though never stated as such, the purpose of the “00’s” was clear: to kill people who proliferated or attacked the West’s nuclear weapons systems, missiles, or otherwise threatened to cause a nuclear war. When nobody was doing so, they could also do other murderous missions.
But it does raise the interesting question of would the Vatican approve of the killing of those who tried to cause a nuclear war?

Wait a minute, the Vatican said Homer Simpson is a “Catholic Hero”? WTH?
Craig finally owns the Bond character, the villain (the baddie from 'No Country for Old Men') brings menace back to the villain's role, and the movie has a very good plot. Saying more would reveal spoilers so let me just say that the plot definitely matches the action (unlike so many movies nowadays that are all action and no plot - example, the most recent Bourne movie featuring the 'new' agent popping pills to make himself quasi-superhuman). SkyFall had action, but it also had a seriously good plot.
Great movie ...actually, great cinema.
