According to wikipedia:
Honorably discharged after one year for "unsuitability".Considered subpar by commanders and fellow soldiers,His record contained numerous infractions.
I don't know about anybody else but I managed to complete my entire hitch, always received decent fitness reports (I certainly never deserved a "Soldier Of The Year" award) and was never written up *once*.
But still, you've gotta admit that Jimi's military record was far better than is Osama's.
UGH
If that isn’t a political statement, I don’t know what is!
You may want to investigate Hendrix’s military service.
“But still, you’ve gotta admit that Jimi’s military record was far better than is Osama’s.”
Well, yeah.
At least he had one.
And he loved his country.
Hendrix was notorious among friends and bandmates for sometimes becoming angry and violent when he drank too much alcohol.[190] Kathy Etchingham spoke of an incident that took place in a London pub in which an intoxicated Hendrix beat her with a public telephone handset because he thought she was calling another man on the pay phone.[191] Carmen Borrero, another girlfriend, says she required stitches after he hit her with a bottle after drinking and becoming jealous.[192] Alcohol was also cited as the cause of Hendrix's 1968 rampage that badly damaged a Stockholm hotel room and led to his arrest. Paul Caruso's friendship with Hendrix ended in 1970 when Hendrix, while under the influence, punched him and accused him of stealing from him.[193]
No. Some vague references to Native American relatives, but no where near “half”.
“Hippies” were not as liberal as history is portraying them now.
Reality is not many people were angry, they were passionate, which is not something you much anymore, you just see anger.
Maybe maybe not.
People weren’t really angry in those days just passionate.
Hadn’t thought about his estate, the holders of the estate have every right to ask it be taken down as permission was not given to use his image.
Maybe it could stay up even as a political sign. People are able to put up lawn signs on their own property (though certainly not as big as this mural is). I could choose to go to another rock club/restaurant if this offended me, I
suppose. Still, an interesting story.
If they had been around pre-2008 I wonder if they would have put up, say a Texas rock star with George W Bush on a mural? (Or years before that have a mural with a Boston rocker and George H.W. Bush who I believe was born in Milton, MA...)
A guy who died in 1970? Not a bad model for the Kenyan’s view of the world; blind to everything that’s happened in the world in the last 42 years.
“I dont see why the mural should come down, it makes perfect sense - two angry dope smoking black guys.”
Someone found out that Jimi’s rhythm section was white.
As long as it isn’t lewd, I say let people put up whatever the hell they want.
Alice watched them all fall apart under the pressure of stardom.
Jimi, Jim, Janis, Keith..all of them killed themselves with booze and dope because they weren’t stable enough for sudden fame.
Booze makes people stupid.
Obozo’s castle made of sand is slipping into the sea...

I’ve read interviews he gave to Rolling Stone and other mags of the time.
That is what he said he was and I reckon he’d know, not that it’s relevant to the mural issue.
Poor babies.
The neo-hippies are making up history as they go along.
My opinion of them is identical to that of Eric Cartman.
:)
And...I’ll be humming that in my head all day now.
Thanks.
:P
A “mean drunk” is different from “angry” in my book.
Al Gore is angry, no alcohol required, for instance.
