Man Accused of Throwing Deadly Snake Into Other Man's Truck

A man is accused of menacing his former girlfriend and a male acquiantance with, among other things, a cold-blooded reptile.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office says that on July 15, Clay Charles Hickenbotam, 50, of DeFuniak Springs, went to his ex-girlfriend's house and threatened the people inside.

While he was on the property he placed a venomous water moccasin in the truck of a man who was there.

Then, he tried to force his way into the residence. When he failed, he struck the front porch light, breaking it. He was arrested on High Lonesome Road.

He was charged with misdemeanor assault and felony throwing a deadly missile into a vehicle, criminal mischief and trespassing.

No court date was available.
