HOUSTON Police say two suspects got away with a 71-year-old womans purse, but they didnt get away with it for long.
According to court documents, just 10 minutes after the theft, the same suspects were stabbed by another victim they were trying to rob.
Now, Mitchell Womack and Ronnie Curry are facing aggravated robbery charges.
It all started on March 30, 2012, around 7:15 p.m., when police said the suspects approached the 71-year-old victim as she walked to her car after work in the 7400 block of Harwin.
The victim said she noticed the men pull up in a gold car, and then the passenger got out and demanded her purse.
When she refused, the victim said the passenger punched her in the mouth.
The impact knocked her to the ground, and she let him take her bag.
The victim said she had to roll over to keep from getting hit by the suspects car as it sped away.
But police said Womack and Curry tried to rob another person about six blocks away, and it didnt turn out so well.

Jesse Jackson, do you have a pony in this race?
If Obama had two son’s they would look like this....
Why isn’t this story about the other robbery?
Because this is a story on “a darwin award” or at least stupid crooks going for it.
I predict that the day will come when women and men will routinely carry decoy purses/wallets that “may” contain fatal surprises for their assailants. I don’t want to see that, but I do think it will happen. Especially as there appears to be a “protected” class that is getting braver or just more brazen in their actions.
Two more “Sons of Obama” being racially persecuted by a knife wielding racist woman.
But seriously, folks. I am a big advocate of knives, especially in close range encounters. Under 10-15 feet, against the typical dummy, even if they have a gun, a capable knife user can slice and dice faster and more effectively than most people would imagine.
And knife injuries are far more prone to kill than gunshots, even with emergency medical care.
Brutes like these two either try to use their fists or have a gun, which they think gives them power and control, though often they don’t even have bullets and have never fired a gun. On top of it, they probably want something else that they are focused on, like a purse or wallet; whereas you are focused on cutting them to ribbons.
Booby traps are illegal, and dangerous.
Yep, you are right... But I see civilization starting to breakdown. And once a segment of the population doesn’t care at all about what is legal or illegal then anything goes. I’m not saying its right, I just think that it is a good possibility if things keep going the way they are.
Not all people are sheep to be eaten by the wolves amongst us, some will fight back.
I’ve always got possession of a knife. Except when I’m in the shower. But even then I have on close by. I believe my most dangerous knife is the 2 1/2 inch bladed one. It’s quite sharp and doesn’t look threatening at all. But if I put it in the right spot....
I lived on an alley and always kept my front door unlocked and open for most of the year (it was on the beach), only locking it for bed, my friends used to tease me for keeping a knife stored by the shower head.
I didn't want to keep a gun or a high quality knife ( I prefer carbon steel) in there with the wetness, so I kept about a 5 or 6 inch bladed, made in India, cheap, but sharp, stainless steel knife.
Does “Bernard Goetz” ring a bell?
Expect to get the Zimmerman treatment by the Race Hustlers if you get caught.
Bladed weapons are just amazing things. I heard from an experienced emergency room doctor that the most nightmarish blade injury in his experience was unexpected, a wobbly kung-fu sword. They don’t even look like a “real” sword, but the cut they leave severs capillaries like crazy.
Most of the time they are left with blunt edges, but every now and then somebody sharpens one, and the injuries are most often training accidents.
Half devious, half stupid.
If Obama had sons...
