It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that most SC Judges are not happy with our current administration.

A hard leftist [Justice Ginsburg] may be, but she is also a Jew. I believe that notwithstanding her political leanings, she sees Obama for what he is, a Muslim sympathizer at the least, or an outright Muslim, period. As a Jew, I sense she will not provide a him the opportunity or satisfaction of filling “her seat”. I sense that, deep down, she despises him, and is determined to outlast him...

Reportedly, she is Justice Scalia's best buddy on the Court:

“I consider myself a good friend of every one of my colleagues, both past and present,” Scalia told Laura [Ingraham]. “Some more than others. My best friend on the Court is and has been for many years, Ruth Ginsburg. Her basic approach is not mine, but she’s a lovely person and a good loyal friend.”

I wonder what she thought when Scalia joked that ordering his clerks to read the Obamacare law would violate the Eighth Amendment.

I have written almost the same identical post as Road Glide before. Ginsberg has had Pancreatic cancer for a couple of years or so now. My father died of it and it’s considered one of the worst, most painful of all.

So, I’ve wondered for a long time how she could manage to hold out, why she didn’t retire, etc, and the conclusion I also came to is that, in spite of her liberal views, she ‘knows’ what Obama is and is waiting him out.

Romney or Obama. Not really a choice here. Romney is not as far to the left as Obama though. In any case both will appoint liberals to the bench, you can bank on it.

The rumors of a 7-2 beatdown of Obamacare must be true then.

CBS has the long knives out.

Do you have any facts to back up your feeling that Ginsburg as a Jew distrusts the muslim in the WH?

The irony of asking for facts while asserting Obama is a Muslim is lost on you.

Translation:

CBS to Obama:

PLEASE REPLACE THESE OLD FARTS WHILE YOU CAN AND DON’T LET ROMNEY PUT IN RINOS!

It is actually a brilliant strategy and the Democrats would be wise to do this. They control the Senate today and may not control it next year. At the same time, can’t these old SCOTUS trolls wait until the 2nd week of November to retire only if Romney wins. I mean, there is plenty of time until Romney’s inauguration for the Senate to railroad through Obama’s next 2 picks, if he fails to be re-elected.

This would be a brilliant thing for the evil democrats to do while Obama is stil president and while they still own the Senate lock, stock and barrel.

You mean to bottle up Obama’s nominees in the DEMOCRAT CONTOLLED Senate where nominations are approved with only 5 1 votes? Like that bottled up?

I am hardly a Romney fan, but even I don’t believe their choices would be the same. I just don’t. Consider a 2nd term marxist who doesn’t have to give two sh1ts about ANYTHING or ANYONE and his picks, versus Romney’s potential picks, and you can damn well bet he will care about getting re-elected again.

The time will likely come when good people are going to have to openly declare that the Supreme Court has no authority to issue any rulings contrary to the Constitution, and the fact that a President who holds the Constitution in contempt may appoint justices who do likewise does not mean such rulings have any legitimacy.

If such a time comes, it will be far easier to effectively denounce as illegitimate a ruling penned by Obama-appointed Kagans, than a ruling penned by Romney-appointed Souters.

I did a Google and she first had surgery in 2009. Most only live a year or so, my dad lived for 2 1/2 years, but that was many years ago and they probably have much better detection and meds for it now.

Breyer isn’t really that old, article says 72. That’s just a kid, in SCOTUS terms.
But the Democrats have been on the defensive; had we had a good president and a good Senate these past four years, there would have been a clean 6-vote majority in SCOTUS in favor of the founding principles of the nation. Without even counting Kennedy. Assuming the same two justices retired, which is not a given.
But even SCOTUS majorities aren’t forever; Scalia and Kennedy are Reagan’s last appointees, and Reagan left office 22 years ago . . .
Scalia will stay on while he can, because his influence on the court is important - and Kennedy, because his vote decides all 5-4 cases, must be having a ball.

Yea, you’re probably right. Thankfully, Romney’s been pushed VERY HARD to the right, due to our Primary process. It would be tough for him to become a McCain and simply act as if all he said in the Primary was for ‘domestic consumption’. Even Bush-43 got pushed hard by the base, and had to give up on Harriett Myers (thank God) and Amnesty (also thank God).
