Contact with alien life gets my vote.
Where is alien contact?
Also, I know what a singularity is, but I have to look up what “the singularity” means.

I wish there was another choice on the list. I remember reading a science fiction novel when I was in junior high.
It was about the massive amount of moron inhabitants of earth that were ruled by a few at the top. Everyone had been dumbed down.
Wish I could remember the author and title.
I guess I forgot, because it really WAS science fiction back then to me.
I was looking forward to a wonderful future in THIS country and couldn’t imagine something like that happening, even in the FAR future.
I vote for moon landing, a real one, not one faked on a historic (Fatsy Arbuckle, Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell and others) Burbank movie lot.

No doubt World War 1 was considered “science fiction”, until IT HAPPENED.
No doubt the same for WW2.
So why do they consider the use of weapons that exist and a war on a scale that’s already happened twice science fiction?
When you can answer that question, you will prove (to at least me) that you UNDERSTAND liberals.
None of it is going to happen so long as the current crop of idiots is in power--regardless of party. We are headed into a new Dark Age.
The Science Fiction imagery of the '50s and 60s was glory and grandeur, since then the images have been increasingly degeneration and apocalypse. The 'vision' of the future has shifted, and until it shifts to something more positive, the future won't be.
I'm still waiting for the affordable flying car and that free nuclear power generated electricity...
