None of it is going to happen so long as the current crop of idiots is in power--regardless of party. We are headed into a new Dark Age.
The Science Fiction imagery of the '50s and 60s was glory and grandeur, since then the images have been increasingly degeneration and apocalypse. The 'vision' of the future has shifted, and until it shifts to something more positive, the future won't be.

Think I first read about it 48-50 years ago and I think they're still in business with no product to sell yet.
