from Bells Obituary:

Bell was credited with developing "critical race theory," which suggested that the U.S. legal system was inherently biased against African Americans and other minorities because it was built on an ingrained white point of view.

He argued in his many books and lectures that the life experiences of black people and other minorities should be considered in hiring decisions and in applying the law.

Flash back: Obama on picking Judges:

.."We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges.--

Sotomayor:
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

Sotomayor is in her 50's lifetime appointment. CRT helps explain her strange ruling on the white fire fighters with high test scores passed over for jobs given to minorities with lower scores.

Kagan helped Bell publish his radical writings at Harvard law. There would of been a bigger push back (imo) if we had known this before their confirmations. Obama is Bell.

Then there is Holder talking about my people...

I’d agree that this is nothing WE don’t already know. But it is something THEY don’t already know.

Obama’s far left nature is still unkown to a lot of people and this needs to be reiterated so more can become aware of it and be reminded of it.

Your horse is dead, quit beating him now. The way you talk, Obama will get impeached for this informative but insignificant, for all practical purposes, video. What do you expect to happen with this vital info? I'm guessing ...nothing. (except a few of you getting your panties in a wad)

I've got a tape of Obama saying he was NOT born in Hawaii but Kenya, one of his wife saying he was a Kenyan and one of a high state official of Kanya saying he was born there. Anything happening with that? What makes you think your video is going to really shake things up? Without the MSM expect nothing.

Not to be downplayed or overlooked, this is the tip of the iceberg.

The shock value is not the “hug video” itself, but a reveal into the extent of radical leftist ideology that now infiltrates our government.

IMO, the story also gives insight into MO’s power and political agenda. She may very well be the driving force behind the (arranged?) relationship. She had the Chicago inside track. (Any wonder why the campaign played her as “just a mom” or “mom in chief”??)

Re. Obama appointments

The Harvard Black Law Students Association (HBLSA) was founded in 1967. Today HBLSA is the largest chapter in the National Black Law Students Association. With well over 100 members, HBLSA is truly reflective of the diversity that exists within the Black community of Harvard Law School. HBLSA alumni range from Charles Ogletree, renowned legal scholar and our very own advisor, to Deval Patrick, Governor of Massachusetts, to Debra Lee, CEO of BET, to Barack and Michelle Obama, President and First Lady of the United States of America.

I found that Barack might not be the only Obama on the tapes.

In May 1988, Harvard Law students, borrowing from Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals,
and foreshadowing the Occupy movement of 2011, occupied the Harvard Law
School’s dean’s office. The students were supporting Professor Derrick
Bell’s demand that the law school hire professors on the basis of race.

One of the students “dressed in black” and occupying the dean’s
office appears to be Michelle Obama (Harvard Law ’88). Here is a link
to the grainy video. (lower right at about ten seconds in, wearing white Keds):

Most of the students are African American. Marcus Jones reports that 50 Harvard Law School students marched into the administration building in the afternoon; that most of the students are African American; that many of the students wore black as a show of solidarity.

Summary
David Boeri reports that a group of Harvard Law students occupied the Dean’s office overnight to protest the lack of minority faculty at the school. Boeri notes that the students held a rally for their cause this morning. Boeri’s report includes footage of Charles Ogletree (Visiting Professor, Harvard Law School) addressing a rally of students outside of the school. Boeri notes that the sit-in is over for now and that student leaders met with James Vorenberg (Dean, Harvard Law School) to discuss their demands for an increase in minority faculty members. Boeri interviews Robert Wilkins (Harvard Black Law Students Association) about the meeting with the Dean.

Freedom to think at Harvard Law
THE WASHINGTON TIMES - Wednesday, JULY 17, 1991
Author: Eric Felten, THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Dean Robert Clark was not about to see his Harvard Law School office be turned into the Columbia University president’s office of the 1990s. No cigar-smoking students with their feet up on his desk. So when student protesters staged sit-ins blocking his office lobby for the second time in a semester last fall, he cracked down.

The students were following the lead of Professor Derrick Bell , who has taken a leave of absence from the university until a black woman professor is appointed to the law school. Mr. Bell is protesting the school’s unwillingness to offer tenure to Anita Allen, a visiting professor from Georgetown University and a black woman.

“We took pictures of the students in the office so that we would know who they were, and [we] told them they were in clear violation of university rules,” Mr. Clark says. The students also were told that if they did not leave the office by the end of the day, they would be disciplined. They were sent letters saying such protests would not be tolerated in the future.

“They waited a little past the deadline, to show they weren’t intimidated,” Mr. Clark says. With a hint of mischief, he adds, “Maybe I shouldn’t say this - because I don’t want to encourage them to try it again - but they haven’t been back.”

Anita LaFrance Allen-Castellito (born March 24, 1953)[1] is the Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law and professor of philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is also a senior fellow in the bioethics department of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, a collaborating faculty member in African studies, and an affiliated faculty member in the women’s studies program. In 2010 President Barack Obama named Allen to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. She is a Hastings Center Fellow.

Robinson majored in sociology and minored in African American studies and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985.[4][25] She earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law School in 1988.[26] At Harvard she participated in demonstrations advocating the hiring of professors who were members of minorities[27] and worked for the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, assisting low-income tenants with housing cases.[28]

If anyone asked Professor Charles Ogletree Jr. 20 years ago which member of the Obama family would wind up in national politics, he would have picked Michelle.

Ogletree first met Michelle Obama ’88 in the fall of 1985 when both arrived at Harvard Law School for the first time, she as a student and he as a visiting professor. As a student in his trial advocacy workshop, Ogletree says her commitment to public service was already clear.

“She made a commitment to her father, who did not go to college, that she would pursue her talents to help her community,” says Ogletree.

Fix your browser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5m6YFBcixo&t=96

Ogletree's chortle aside, the fact remains Obama's affection for Bell was revealed before the election. It was one of many radical associations of Obama's that were revealed before the election, but to no effect, thanks to McCain's incompetent campaign, the MSM, and the stupid, gullible, and lazy sheeple.

For the time being, VG's assessment in #2 is right on the money — weak tea, indeed. The best we can hope for is that it may turn out Ogletree was actually referring to something much more incendiary, which we haven't seen and which Breitbart's folks are holding in reserve.

Really? Where was it revealed that Bell was one of them?

You really do need to brush up on your google skills.

It was revealed on 2007-01-28 by no less a libtard media organ than the New York Times:

As the president of the review, Mr. Obama once again walked a delicate line. He served on the board of the Black Law Students Association, often speaking passionately about the tempest of the week, but in a way that white classmates say made them feel reassured rather than defensive. He distanced himself from bombast; he did a mischievous impersonation of the Rev. Jesse Jackson when he came to speak on campus, recalled Franklin Amanat, now a federal prosecutor in Brooklyn. Mr. Obama’s boldest moment came at a rally for faculty diversity, where he compared Professor Bell to Rosa Parks.

Also, check out http://www.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/politics/2008OBAMA_LAW/Obama_CoursePk.pdf, the reading list from Professor Obama's course at the U of Chicago on Current Issues in Racism and the Law, Spring Term 1994, in which he assigns readings from Bell's works on Critical Race Theory, including the introduction to Faces at the Bottom of the Well (in addition to Vattel's Law of Nations, LOL!).

Don't bring up points about which you have no clue!

Obama was an adjunct professor. In academia, those types commonly get away with styling themselves as "Professor", even though they don't have tenure, not that they could care less (for obvious reasons, if you know any examples). In any case, Obama selected the reading list, the fact was published before the election, and that's the only point that counts.

BTW, I know an adjunct professor at a certain graduate school who got paid forty large (plus expenses and his choice of overnight female, which he declned as far as we know) to fly half way around the world and give a two day seminar on certain critical aspects of business strategy. His university salary was low six digits, but that ain't the half of it! Not close! Nice work if you can get it :)!

Obama was NOT an “Adjunct professor”, he was a “lecturer”

Bah! Lecturer, Sr. Lecturer, Adjunct Professor all mean more or less the same thing: a person who is not on a tenured academic career track, but whom the institution respects sufficiently to put in front of their students as an academic authority. Often such people will do the job for a short interlude between major non-academic gigs.

He did not have any professorial status whatsoever. I researched it.

Wrong. He was teaching at a major American university. It was on the U of C's campus that the first nuclear reactor was built. Here's how the University currently characterizes him:

Statement Regarding Barack Obama
The Law School has received many media requests about Barack Obama, especially about his status as "Senior Lecturer."

From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School's Senior Lecturers has high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching. Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined.

You should read the opinions of the REAL professors there about Obama’s “sloppy, lazy” work ethic : )

Hindsight. By raising his status, the U of C lowered its own! It has fallen far since the days of Fermi.

“Hindsight. By raising his status, the U of C lowered its own!”

Like many other so-called top notch schools. By the way, I wasn’t trying to insult you. Both of my parents were college (full) professors, so I know the hierarchy, and the pecking order. If one is a “lecturer”, one is NOT a professor, even an “assistant” professor is a professor, , albeit a lowly one. Therefore, U of C LIED by calling him a professor, and probably LIED about his offer of a permanent professorship to boot.
Respectfully, SJB

Just a thought: Does the student newspaper at Harvard have an archive?

You could try Google. Example: site:thecrimson.com derrick bell obama

The first hit is Bell's obit, which begins:

Once called the “Rosa Parks of legal education” by President Obama, Derrick A. Bell—the first tenured black professor at Harvard Law School—died Wednesday night. He was 80 years old.

It goes like this:

BB (Breitbart) makes a minor charge, which draws a major denial from the left —they offer some explanation.

THEN BB rolls out additional evidence that makes plain the great lie contained in the initial denial.

This then triggers much teeth-gnashing, yelling, and rambling back-tracking. Then a back-up explanation/denial is issued.

THEN BB rolls out something really huge (something that wasn’t disclosed at first) that drags the entire group of lefty apoligists down the bar counter, pushing all manner of peanuts, beer, and sending drinks crashing onto the barroom floor.

Then the victim is pummeled, kicked into silence and finally pee’d upon.

THAT is how is goes.

What a fantastic description of the Breitbart model, gaijin!

That is also one of the funniest things I've read on FR in awhile... LOL
