I have an ASUS G72G laptop that had the power cord die. I have tried a couple of universal ASUS chargers but they don't work with this particular model of computer. Does anybody know where I can find a replacement?

The model number of the original charger is ADP 150NB D

19.5V, 7.7A

Ran into the same problem w/ my Toshiba laptop. Toshiba wanted up to $80 for a replacement. Found a knock-off on amazon.com for $15...works just fine.

Just go to Amazon.

My puppy decided to use my power cord as a chew toy.

I was going to replace it but had wanted a fancy Schmancy cord stripper for years, so I went to Radio Shack and bought one.

Stripped the wires, taped em together and this Saturday I will buy some liquid plastic and enclose the cord again.

Alternatively, you could try Radio Shack or Walmart for a Universal Charger. I picked one up for one of my flashlights and my GPS.

Batteries Plus also sells power cords. Their website sucks loudly but play with it and if they have what you want you can go to the local store and pick one up.

If you are near a Fry’s electronics they also sell replacements.

Put ‘ADP 150NB D’ in Google.

It brings up many listings from about $49.

Instead of searching for the brick part number, try searching Amazon for Asus (model #) power
I just ordered a knockoff for my Wife’s Toshiba for less than half the OEM brick.

Any universal AC adapter should work, provided it meets two conditions:

1. The output specifications need to be identical to the specifications of the original adapter.

2. The barrel or other connector going into laptop must also be identical.

My suggestion take it in to Radio Shack and “build” an adapter with their universal parts. That way you can test it there and make sure it works before you leave the store.

I think I'll try that. The trouble I have been having is that the 150NB is fairly common but I have a 150NB-D which appears to be the only one made. Again, thanks everyone for your help.

Radio Shaft has a pretty decent selection of generic adapters with a selection of voltage and plug configs, and if you can’t stand going in there (I try to avoid it if at all possible), Batteries Plus has a good selection of stuff like that, both OEM and aftermarket I think, if you have them near you.

Might wanna consider this as a much better/neater alternative to that liquid plastic goop.
