May God Bless you and your family. My wife and I are just a few days short of celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary. I still see my wife as the twenty year old sweetheart I married. God has blessed me more than I deserve. Your thoughts on Newt Gingrich are well written. I am going to keep a copy for my files. Thank you.

Way too long, but the writer captures the calculus that is Newt’s candidacy: man has lived a long time in the public eye, has done a lot of good, had made a lot of mistakes, has a ton of knowledge.
I have yet to see a single anti-Gingrich editorial that was honest about both sides of the ledger. And there are two sides to the ledger no doubt.

An insider needs the insiders support because he has nothing outside of that. That’s Romney.
Newt can and does stand on his own. Gifted indeed - no one could dispute that and remain credible. He loves this country and thus studied her immensely - that’s patriotism. Now he wants the oath of office to bring this beautiful country of ours to it’s former shining glory by and for Our Constitution/our foundation.

This pastor, the author, has a heart of flesh and is as wise as he is realistic.
I very much agree with the following: “I am astounded that Barak Obama and his ideological colleagues have been able to inflict so much damage on this nation in a remarkably short time. Weak previous Republican and other Democrat leaders have not helped the nation either.
We are in a genuine emergency. This is not just another election. This is it. We will see America begin to turn now, or it is over.”
Too many people are STILL seeing this only in political or economic terms. It is MUCH larger.

Being a Newt guy and Catholic, I find this article very much to my liking. Newt will be best on fighting the tide against radical secularism which seeks to restrict the ‘freedom of religion’ to one of ‘private practice of religion’. As for Romney, his New Hampshire Governorship and being in favor of things that are clearly against his Mormon religion(abortion, gay marriage, etc) puts him in the form factor of a Nancy Pelosi...and untrustworthy, despite a rather recent conversion to ‘core republicanism’... what about the core values of his religion.
Nevertheless, he’d make a good second choice, mainstream Republican who will be weak on social issues, and 2nd rate on fiscal issues, but traditionally a solid republican, but a less than solid conservative. The problem with this type is that they collapse or bargain off important social and fiscal issues near and dear to the conservative faithful.

The # of Republican endorsements for Romney occuring now is from the core, old guard, monied insiders of the Republican party. Endorse now if you want to see a future w/ the party and be supported by the party.

I think this guy just wrote another book of the Bible. That was some screed.

I don't get all of the "holier than thou" people who condemn Gingrich for his marriages, and are willing to cast the victory to obama by putting a putz like Romney into the General Election.
If the vote was for "husband of the year", of course Newt wouldn't get my vote, but it's not...it's for an office on which he is very knowledgable, compared to most others in the race.
The good ol' boys club in the GOP are the worst offenders and want to reserve the top spot for a known RINO and flip-flopper, Mitt Romney. They did the same thing last time with McCain, we have all seen what an unmitigated disaster that turned out to be.
My barber of 20 years cheated on her husband - who is a distant relative of mine - but I still go to her for my haircuts as she does a terrific job. She's remarried with a new son and is a great person. Whether she has made restitution is not my business, or my call.
I thing all of those - including the media - who are blasting Newt should adhere to the saying, "Let ye who is without sin, cast the first stone."
I suppose that liberals and lefties feel they have some sort of "cleansing" ability and completely absolved obama - even named him the "messiah" - when he's rotten and evil to the core, but condemn Cain, Gingrich and others for lesser crimes.
What I want is, this country to be straightened out, and obama is headed in the opposite direction; Romney will be a puppet to the media and the GOP insiders; Ron Paul (Ross Perot 2.0) is a nutcase, Bachmann's a whiner, and Santoram - while a great guy - just can't seem to get any traction.
Newt has his skeletons, but I would go with him, or Rick Perry, as the two guys tough enough to take on the work that needs to be done to get things right again. Newt doesn't take any crap from the media, and to me the mainstream media is largely accountable for the downfall of America.
Just my opinions...

I totally agree. ‘Under the threat’, ‘the hand that feeds’ - mob mentality.

An understanding of the moral differences. It is no longer a case of right vs. left as some might say, thus suggesting these two positions are moral equivalents. They are not. It is not right vs. left, but right vs. wrong. Tearing up a baby in the womb is not merely left. It is wrong. It is sin. Destroying the definition of marriage is not merely left. It is wrong. It is sin. Stealing funds from future generations and spending it so that they will be closer to slavery than freedom is not merely left. It is wrong. It is sin. Although Mr. Gingrich is not running for Theologian-in-Chief but Commander-in-Chief, he grasps these issues. He understands the moral component.
A grasp of the threat posed by loss of religious liberty. Religious liberty is a locomotive on a set of tracks, heading full steam against another locomotive called the radical gay agenda. Religious liberty and the radical gay agenda cannot exist in the same nation at the same time. Leaders of both movements know this. One will win. One will lose. Soon. Very soon. Mr. Gingrich understands this, and knows what must happen to preserve religious liberty. His awakening, of sorts, was stimulated by two well-known 9th Circuit Court actions: the June 2002 removal of under God from the Pledge of Allegiance (reversed by the Supreme Court), and the June 2004 Mojave Desert Cross ruling. Those were his proverbial enough-is-enough moments. He has not been the same since. He has written a profound paper on what a President Gingrich would do in the appointment of a Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty. Every Christian and Jew should read this paper and allow me to be blunt here ponder the consequences of not having Mr. Gingrichs brilliance in the White House to defend this rapidly disappearing freedom.
This San Diego pastor has taken the time to write eloquently and honestly about Newt Gingrich.
The above is just a small excerpt.

22. SERIOUSNESS OF THE SITUATION
I am SOOO grateful for this article. And the seriousness of the situation is what I was referring to in my reply to an article earlier today regarding Newt’s statement about arresting rogue judges who legislate from the bench.
It’s crunch time! We no longer have time to play pattycake. A pantywaist candidate or POTUS will not suffice. We need a POTUS who KNOWS what to do, and has the stones to DO it! Go Newt!

I think I might call the pastor to suggest to him that he is needed in Iowa to campaign alongside Newt Gingrich.
