Okay, prayer warriors, we have another child to pray for. Kaytlinn is the granddaughter of my co-worker's friend. She is in ICU at University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ.
Kaytlinn has been having seizures for the past week or so and the docs have been stymied. They've been running tests (MRI, CT, spinal fluid) all along, and yesterday afternoon they discovered what looks to be an infected abscess in her brain. Her white cell count has doubled since yesterday morning.
I don't know anything about the next steps, but Mom and Grandma are both scared to death. Grandma isn't particularly 'religious' according to my co-worker, but she asked her friends on Facebook to pray for Kaytlinn. Let's do the same, please!

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, God in heaven. Please heal our little Kaytlinn. Comfort her and give her strength. We ask that You guide the doctors with skill and knowledge. Please give them insight into Kaytlinn’s condition. We also pray for the family and friends. Give them courage in time of fear and allow them to feel Your presence and love. In This I Pray. Amen.
Come Gracious Spirit, Heavenly Dove,
With light and comfort from above.
Be Thou our Guardian, Thou our Guide,
Stay close by every child’s side. Amen!
Lord, please look after this child. We pray she will recover soon.

When did the Free Republic become a religious forum? Do we welcome and support all faiths? This could get out of hand. I feel for Kaytlinn as much as any of you do and I wish her well
but do not feel this is a forum for religious expression.
I believe FR has always had a religious forum. When a fellow FReeper is going through a difficult time in their life and asks for prayers... I oblige and I do it willingly. In fact, I am honored to do so. I have seen prayer requests for as long as I have been on FR. If this bothers you, perhaps you shouldn’t click on the post.

We’ve been dipping this for years. It’s one of my favorite things about free republic.
I will definitely be praying.

Greyfox, this has been going on since I started posting here. It’s like a prayer chain at church except it’s a lot bigger.
One of the things that separate FR from the other sites is our unashamed support of God. There’s atheists here but they never get obnoxious and we respect each others’ opinion.
As for prayer, people have a need to do something during a crisis like this and a prayer is a way to do something. I’d like to see the stats on how many people pray.
Seeing this kind of thing happen to a child is heart breaking.
Now, say someone comes on with a horrible story and how the family needs money but you can never find out which hospital their kid is at and you never get the diagnosis, those are the people who need to be dealt with.
It’s almost like those fine folks at DU listening to Bev Harris saying, just $10 away from overturning the election or something like that.
Get her on Keppra stat.
Prayers up for Kaytlinn, and the family, too. May God reward her with healing and make her whole.
