Bachmann couldn’t be more right and, as usual, Americans can’t handle the truth. We shouldn’t be paying ANYONE to get pregnant anymore and that is especially true of illegal aliens. What part of 15 trillion dollars in debt don’t people understand?

I’d do something for them. I’d throw them and their crooked parents out of the country.

There use to be some conversation in academic circles, in college campus education departments, about “values clarification”. The worst example went something like this—you’re on a boat and have to decide who to throw overboard, to give the largest number the ability to survive with only limited reserves on board. Churches took this phrase up and matched it along side the phrase, “the end does not justify the means”, and “doing evil in the name of the good” is still choosing evil, and sinful.

Undoubtedly the Lutheran teaching Bachman professes still teaches against using evil as a means to an end. Abortion destroys utterly innocent life. Lack of mercy toward innocent children may or may not destroy utterly, but makes them pay a price for a crime they did not commit. This is quite a philosophical question, but it is also a religious question if you believe that all mankind knows God, because all mankind is created in his image. We are also taught that showing love towards those who show us love back is very little challenge to our faith, but loving our neighbor is a commandment. It’s just that sometimes we don’t like who is our neighbor very much. Bachman is worldly reasonable, but morally wrong.

BTW, I wasn’t talking about “anchor babies”. They do not need to be automatic citizens, but in the 1850’s, when Bachman’s family immigrated in, the country had the wherewithall to determine who got to enter by sea. It seems that the lack of border control is the problem all the way around.

You should see my great grandfather’s immigration paperwork.

On his declaration of intent to become an American citizen he had to swear he wasn’t an anarchist, or a polygamist among other things. They even asked his religion and he had to prove proficiency to read and speak english.

Again, be awfully careful when reading this account. Be mindful of the exact words used in the question and then notice only her remarks in quotes mixed in with those of the author of this report.

Pay extra special attention to where the author changes the word "to" in the question by replacing it with the word "for" after the edited quote attributed to Bachmann.

The Republican presidential hopeful made the eyebrow-raising remarks at a campaign stop in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Saturday after a Latino college student asked what Bachmann would do to the children of undocumented immigrants.

She said she would “not do anything,” for the children, adding"Their parents are the ones who brought them here," Bachmann said, as first reported by MSNBC. "They did not have the legal right to come to the United States. We do not owe people who broke our laws to come into the country. We don't owe them anything."

Predictable spread?

Better than predictable; certifiable. I don't do polls because ALL of them are too easy to game.

But I checked; in a period of 10 minutes, the poll gamers had increased the "PC" response by almost 5%

“Abortion destroys utterly innocent life.”

Strawman.
What does it have to do with this issue of illegals and their children?
Nothing.

Don’t care what Bachmann says, she’s has no chance to win the nomination anyway.

“Abortion destroys utterly innocent life.” <<<<

>>> “ Strawman. What does it have to do with this issue of illegals and their children? Nothing.” <<<

I was commenting to RC1 (#3) who mentioned abortion. I differentiated between abortion of innocents and “doing nothing” for live innocents, who are children of illegals.
I do believe their is a moral equivalent to be made. Period. Sorry if you don’t.
