I really thought TCM would have the original trailer for “One Day in Soviet Russia,” but no dice. The picture of W.C. Fields looks sort of like a Russian commander who just found out what the penalty is for not resisting the fascist hyenas with sufficient vigor.

Somehow I doubt that Stalin’s “One Day in Soviet Russia” was the film version of “A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.” But it would have been far more accurate if it were.

You are right, however there is a good movie version of 'A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich'...iirc, it stars the brilliant British actor John Hurt(?)
