Round Lake Beach cops shoot family’s barking puppy
Chicago Sun Times ^

Javel Townsend said his two sons, ages 10 and 11, are crying and hollering in their sleep, calling out their beloved puppy’s name.

That’s because the Townsend family is grieving the loss of Altgeld, their shepherd/hound mix puppy. Townsend alleges a Round Lake Beach police officer shot and killed the dog earlier this week.

“I guess police got fed up with him barking and shot him,” Townsend said Thursday. “I want to know why they had to shoot him.”

Townsend moved into the 1600 block of Lotus Drive about a week before school started. As a new tenant, he was unaware of a hole in the fence enclosing his yard until Altgeld escaped Tuesday.

He heard gun shots around the time he realized Altgeld was missing. He has a second, older dog that did not escape the yard.

Well, sympathies to the family.

You know, in my neighborhood there’s this bloody dog that barks his head off. All the time - bark, bark, bark. Motorcycle goes by: bark, bark bark. Truck goes by: bark bark, bark. I go for my walk and go by the house - bark, bark bark.

I WISH someone would shoot that dog.

“I want to know why they had to shoot him.”

Because they have badges, guns and the authority to do so. Your rights, unfortunately, are second to their whims.

Welcome to the new Police State, Mr. Townsend. Brought to you by Barry Obama, Eric Holder, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Janet Reno, the DNC, Unions, university professors, public education, the MSM and RINOs.

(Perhaps he should be thankful he didn’t live in Fullerton, CA since the cops might have tased and the beat the living sh!t out of his kids after they shot the puppy.)

This nation has truly spun upside down.

Are you saying you own a dog that constantly barks? And annoys neighbors? And you don't fix that problem?

What kind of Christian is that?

It’s amazing how people will buy a dog and then ignore it completely—just send it outside and forget it.

Ah. Crystal, now.

I'd make a suggestion, but the BBQ sauce and rice with beans might make some freepers upset.

Best of luck with your problem.

We don't have them in this neighborhood.

Burp...

If I hadn’t lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident, I would shoot the yappy little POS.

A good way to shut a dog up, without having to shoot it, is to do what alpha dogs do.

A momma dog will use her mouth to cover the mouths of pups and then give a low growl. This tells the dog to shut up.

So, to shut up a dog, just shape your hand like a ‘c’ and put it over the dog’s mouth and say its name, deeply and slowly.

I wouldn't encourage any unlawful behavior.

Sorry to hear about the tippy-canoe thing. We've all had that happen. Recently, now that you mention it.

The right thing to do is to talk to the owner, and 'splain how the dog won't be able to eat if it's stuffed up the owner's....

Anyway, explain that the owner should keep their chimneys clear.

For safety.

Slip/falls happen everywhere.

Hounds bark.

Hounds bark, treeing coons (if you are lucky, bobcats, if you ain't) and that implies lots of country around to run hounds.

A human that would have a hound in a suburban environment needs to be beaten just for an example to the others (pour l'encouragement des autres).
