***I Still Expect To Pull The Lever For Sarah***
Stardate: 1110.6

Posted on 10/06/2011 5:08:40 AM PDT by The Wizard

Because I posted this last night: ***Who Needs A Knife: Stabbed In The Back By Someone We Loved*** along with a few comments as to why I felt that way, I wish to hasten to point out my love and devotion to Madam President and all she stands for....

I, like many others, were deeply hurt by this unexpected announcement, and being so reacted in the way I did....

But For the record, I want all my fellow Freepers to know that I still back her 100%, and having slept on it, stand by comments made on my TV show: I will be voting for Sarah Palin in 2012 for President of the United States

Maybe they should appoint Sarah as head of the Republican National Committee. It would be a hoot to watch Joyless Behar’s head explode.

Unless MILLIONS of Americans also do the same, and write it in exactly the same (spelling, initials, etc.), a write in vote just means it takes us longer to tally the votes.

As of today, much as I'd like to vote for Sarah, I will be voting for Herman Cain.

I don’t think she has enough respect for the office of the Presidency by calling it just a “title”. That was really bothersome.

We have had 44 Presidents and every President after World War 1 would look at that comment with distain. Because the free world needed a leader in WW1, the Great Depression, World War 2, the Cold War and War on Terror. That leader has always been the USA. thus the President of the USA is the leader of the Free World. Thats more important now than ever before. right now there is no leadership..

I think you are looking for something much more than a presidential candidate.

I have my own personal beliefs that only have to make sense to me. First of all, Jesus Christ is and will always my lord and savior. even if im unsure about all of the various religious doctrines and denominations.

I hope millions write her name in anyway.

I'm sure she'd be really happy about that, four more years of a Marxist president.

Actually, in practice, your posts make it look like you trusted in someone besides Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That’s the point.....

>> This Palin Cult of Personality is getting creepy. <<

Agreed. But we simply don't know how many of these posters are sincere fans of Sarah, versus trolls and “agents provacateurs” sent over by Kos and Soros to stir up dissent and doubt in the conservative ranks.

That’s really for the field to decide now, isn’t it? I mean, either they’ll step up and earn the job or they won’t.

Maybe he/she is a drive-by poster, sent over to FR by Media Matters or by the black-flag group now camped on Wall Street.

Please!...let Sarah alone.

She is saving her children from a life of misery and strife. I believe it is the absolute right thing for her to do now that it is clear that her girls and Trig will be a target for all the demented leftist lunatics.

Gov Palen is going to do what she does best which is drive the MSM nuts for the next 20 years. During that time, her family will grow up and be whatever they want to be, Gov Palin will be gaining wisdom and knowledge and will be able to present herself for POTUS as a wise statesman like Lady Thatcher.

I wish I could see her then....I might in my extreme olden years, I will be 94.......Gov Palin will be in her prime years and could lead the US into even a higher level of prosperity and peace.

I guess if Palin supporters really want to keep it going...look at the specificity of her statement... "I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States." ...she doesnt really rule out a different path.

You ain't kidding.

My favorite posts were the ones that referenced Sun Tzu. I guess she was so well versed in “The Art of War” that she tricked even her own followers.

That's the fact, Jack!

I think the Bible calls it ... "Idolatry".

Nineteen years later, is Ross Perot fondly remembered or is he remembered as the fiasco that put the Clintons in the White House?

For months, I have been warning on FR about the "Cult of Personality" surrounding Palin, not because of Palin, but because of the extremely destructive effect that such behavior by some of her supporters was having on the ability to present a united front to defeat Obama.

Any Palin doubter who dared to question the merits of a Palin candidacy was personally insulted and attacked. Any Palin supporter than dared imply the slightest imperfection in Sarah was personally insulted and attacked until he or she begged for forgiveness. Any GOP candidate whose name was not "Sarah" was attacked. One FReeper actually posted "If Sarah does not get it, Obama can have it".

This is not "Conservative" behavior. Throughout History, "Cults of Personality" have been the hallmark of totalitarian regimes. In the United States of America, the "Rule of Law" and the Constitution, not mere mortals, were revered.

All my life, I have been affected by a "Cult of Personality" that still exists to this day. In 1958, the Savior of Cuba that would end the Batista dictatorship was a young man that promised the restoration of the Constitution of 1940. My grandfather, eager to restore democracy, donated a considerable amount of money to the cause. By 1961, all talk of the Constitution of 1940 had vanished and, by then, the only thing that mattered in Cuba was whether you were a "Fidelista" or an "anti-Fidelista". My grandfather, who believed in Constitutions and not men, then spent the years from 1961 to 1980 in Fidel's gulag, released a few short months before he died.

No mere mortal is ever going to meet the expectations of a Cult of Personality. As Stentor's tag line points out, "All cults of personality begin as high drama and end as low comedy."

Palin, herself, has never encouraged such fanatical behavior as "If Sarah does not get it, Obama can have it". Palin, herself, believes in my tag line "Defeating Obama should be Priority Number One".

It is time to stop treating Sarah Palin as a demi-god and it is time for rational conservatives to rally around Sarah Palin in her upcoming efforts to defeat Obama in 2012.
