I think the primaries are being moved up to force Palin to declare sooner than she intends...

I believe that the ruling class politicians see Palin as a real threat to their status quo, and her postponement of announcing her candidacy as a hindrance to their stopping her.

One way to force her hand earlier than she intends is to move up the primaries.

Anybody else see a pattern here?

I can only conclude that, for reasons that will become clear at some future point, Sarah wants the speculation to continue apace.

It's the money. She's getting rich off of the continuous announcements to plan an announcement about the possibility of an announcement about the announcement of a possible announcement.

Here is a bit of Iowa Code:

43.4 POLITICAL PARTY PRECINCT CAUCUSES.
Delegates to county conventions of political parties and party committee members shall be elected at precinct caucuses held not later than the fourth Monday in February of each even-numbered year.
The date shall be at least eight days earlier than the scheduled date for any meeting, caucus, or primary which constitutes the first determining stage of the presidential nominating process in any other state, territory, or any other group which has the authority to select delegates in the presidential nomination.

No, I’ve never claimed to like her (will your next charge be that I’m a PDSer?). You’ve got me confused with someone else. But this is not about liking or disliking her.

I am beginning to wonder if your continued changing of the subject is intentional.

My conversation with you has been about Sarah’s culpability for the continued speculation of her potential run (and the timing of her announcement) for the WH. You claim (or seem to) that it is all the media’s doing and I disagree. I believe it is her intent.

I believe it is well within her ability to control the speculation. I believe she chooses not to limit the discussion.

that is Levon Helm as Mr. Rate in ‘Shooter’, the movie.

Well that certainly clears things up.

Really? hmmmm

Anybody that can think clearly knows exactly what she was doing. Haters can’t figure it out though. Try harder.

LOL. So what is the point of your participation here exactly? Clearly you are closely guarding your wish for Palin to run, else you wouldn't react so vehemently every time someone has the gall to actually call a spade a spade when her games have gotten old.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, we have to deal with people who can't be honest with themselves to the point where there MIGHT be someone who disagrees with the actions of someone they like/love/whatever. There's a reason political discourse is in the crapper in this country and it's NOT a right vs. left thing at all. Look at this very thread.

It may be Palin is not scheduling around other Republicans.

Perhaps she is looking at Hillary.

Crap like what’s in this thread is the undercard in a boring fight. It’s pointless, worthless and doesn’t do anything to defeat the common adversary.

I so agree.

I fear some have lost sight of the goal by being too invested in one candidate (or potential candidate.)

We've got to get the Communists out of power in Washington or all of this is moot.

It happens every election season. However this time the country is in much more peril than ever before and it will only be worse before it gets better.

People are desperate. Some just to be right in some pointless internet debate, some because they actually love the country and want it to prosper.

To be honest, I think some of the funniest/silliest things I've ever read have come in the run-up to the 2006 and 2008 elections. I was a tad bit distracted for the 2010 election. I'm certain 2012 won't be any different.

I doubt it.

If there were signs that she was actually planning to run, you might be right, but I haven't seen any.

This kind of jockeying between states to be the first primary or caucus has been going on for a long time -- and this time the states really want the money and influence that an early primary would bring.

What makes you think it's not Palin supporters who are moving up the date to get her off the fence?

Yes, she’s getting full of herself. The final nail in this coffin will be her declaring she’s not running after this great tease.

“and that “spotlight” is exactly why she will not run. If she gets to run in the general, its bad for her, cause who remembers a “Presidential Candidate”? And if she runs and doesn’t even get the nomination, that is even worse cause then no one will pay her to listen her talk.”

Exactly!! Could not have said it better. The one thing Palin knows for sure is that if she were to get in and not get the nomination or even worse get pummeled in the primaries her career at Fox and as a speaker is over for good.

She is not going to take the chance. She has two resignations in her past she would need to explain away. Not going to happen. If she got in it would get ugly for her real quick. She’s smart enough to not get involved.

Nope. You don't haunt Palin threads in order to insult.

My conversation with you has been about Sarah’s culpability for the continued speculation of her potential run

So now she tells the press to hammer the subject?

“I think the primaries are being moved up to force Palin to declare sooner than she intends...”

Notice how the instant you post what is an obviously true political observation, the operatives rush in to throw cold water on it? They actually think they are convincing people that the blatantly political move they just witnessed did not happen. It’s hilarious.

Her actions are just weird. This refusal to tell what she is up to and string along and change her dates for declaring what in hell is going on and “stringing people along” is just too much to where it will and has backfired on her. She may flatter herself people will listen to her, but she is now turning into chatter and fodder.

You're right, of course. There does appear to actually be a condition that could properly be called the "Palin Derangement Syndrome", but it is a condition suffered by some of her most ardent supporters, not her detractors. Normally such a condition wouldn't really matter that much, but it is getting tedious to even read most threads about the presidential election because of obsurd and often hateful posts by those suffering from it.

I believe Palin's "Bret Favre" games are hurting the chances of a real conservative, like Cain, and actually helping those like Romney and Perry.

Crap or get off the crapper. We have campaigns to run and elections to win.

Hoping she'll run and claiming she will are two different things.

What is the point of you being on this thread? The last time I checked we still lived in a free country and can still make choices. My first choice is that Palin will run.

Tell me why you think you have the right to deride that? Simply because you disagree? Isn't that rather petty?

That Greta interview was a low point for her. Just whacked out with that kind of talk. OK, you’re not running JUST SAY IT!!
