Couple in shock after drug raid

DEA agents didn't find who they were looking for

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - A massive drug raid in Roswell last week targeted dozens of people at homes across the city.

But one of those homes didn't have what police were looking for, and their unexpected visit left the people inside shaken and upset.

It started shortly after Nancy Parker's husband came home from work Friday evening.

"There came this huge bang on the door, front door, sounded like the door was going to fall in," recalled Parker.

She said her husband opened the door to multiple officers in raid gear with guns drawn.

"We were completely shocked, upset," she continued. "I was panicked because I've never had anything like this happen to us before, never."

They do a raid and don’t have a warrant? And when is wearing a jacket that says POLICE on it proof they actually are. This would be funny if not evidence of the police state we are becoming...when it comes to law abiding people.

After the door was pounded like that, many would have answered the door with a gun in hand. If this man would have done so, his right btw, he would be dead today.

“And when is wearing a jacket that says POLICE on it proof they actually are”

Exactly. Any intelligent criminal could do the same thing.

There’s a stupid Canadian TV show (or there was) called “Flashpoint” that idolizes SWAT teams and has them doing all kinds of criminal stuff while making them out to be golden boy and girl heroes... it’s a hideous show and I thought very far fetched... but more and more it’s looking like that show is not so far fetched after all.

Yes, meeting the thugs at the door with a gun is a good way to get shot. It's going to happen sooner or later. We'll lose some good guys, and the thugs will lose a few too.

My plan is that if I hear a mob banging on the door, I'll call 911, report that someone is trying to break in, that I'm armed, and if they do break in, I'm going to shoot. Maybe some other cops will arrive in time to stop the nonsense.

This happens so often that you would think the real bad guys would sometimes have the front door rigged with antipersonnel explosives. After a couple of SWAT teams got blown up, tactics would change.

Actually you have hit on the most fundamental f-up of these kinds of operations. If they DON'T know that an innocent couple is behind the door, then they also WOULD NOT KNOW if this is a terrorist safe house filled to the ceiling with explosives and heavily booby trapped. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that ballistic vests, some cowboy play on the firing range, and an overdose of self-important BS have left them convinced that they are invincible.

Not doing recon and knowing exactly what you are entering is just a symptom of piss-poor, armature, screw-ups playing with guns.

Not even a warrant but demanding access to “Gerald Sentell?”

I suspect it’s the “fugitive” whom the particular LEO team is always seaking when they go on a fishing expedition.

Re: 9

Yes - I remember that show. My son and I refer to it as the Canadian JBT show. I remember watching an episode around 2 years ago (after which I promptly dropped watching it - once I saw the message they were spewing) where some middle-aged husband and wife owners of a jewelry store were in the process of being robbed by a young couple armed with a butter knife, or something. The husband pulled his gun, but somehow the robbers got a hold of it and ran out. The Canadian JBTs show up and they sneeringly referred to the couple as 'Mister and Mrs Smith and Wesson'. The message being, 'How dare they bare firearms? This is only meant for us JBT folks' ... And of course the young criminal couple, 'who never meant to do anyone any real harm', now that they had an evil gun in their possession - were embarking on other criminal activities.
It was a real puke-fest of an episode, and the last one I ever watched...

I never saw that episode. I only watched 2 or 3. The one that turned me off forever was set in a mall.

Three teenage girls had a confrontation in a bathroom in the mall, two of them gang-girlies and the third one a witness against one of their boyfriends in a court case. The gang girls had a gun and witness-girl somehow got hold of it and shot one of the gang girls dead. The other one ran away, as did witness-girl.

The SWAT team shows up (why would you call SWAT for THAT???) and Mr. Super SWAT gets on the mall PA system and announces to all the customers that they must all exit whatever stores they are in and get down on their knees in a long line out in the hallway with their hands behind their heads.

I sh*t you not. That was actually in the show. And all the canadian wimp-stupid sheep COMPLIED WITHOUT A COMPLAINT.

Now, I know it’s just fiction but it’s fiction that raises A LOT OF QUESTIONS about the writers, producers, directors, and actors who all think this was some kind of OK, and a lot more questions about the AUDIENCE that would watch such disgusting tripe without vomiting, which I almost did.

I never watched another episode of that POS show and it only sticks in my mind because I FEAR that our society is headed in that direction.

And by the way, before posting my original post on this thread I forgot the name of this show so I googled to find it and I found a review site in which the reviewer and the turd-brain readers all thought this show was GREAT.

These troops are surely heading for retraining or the unemployment line. They didn’t shoot anyone, not even a dog, and didn’t throw everyone on the floor for multiple tasings and stompings while they demolished the insides of the home. It sounds like the whole thing was some sort of a hoax, maybe. They obviously weren’t a real SWAT.
