Ok, I gotta admit, this really took me by surprise. I really didn't just fall of the turnip truck and know all too well that bigotry, stupidity and rank ignorance not only still exist in 21st century USA, but fester in every state of the union.
But the reaction that ABC got when it announced that Chaz Bono would be among the celebrities on the new "Dancing With the Stars" season had my jaw dropping to the floor.
Homophobia itself is ugly and uninformed, of course, but those who spew anti-gay epithets often do so because they believe sexual orientation is a "choice" and, as such, some kind of mental abberation, despite what people like, oh I don't know, doctors and pyschiatrists have said repeatedly for decades.
But just looking at some of the comments from "DWTS" fans on the show's ABC page is nothing short of a reminder of how blindly ignorant so many people remain in this country.
Somehow, there is no awareness at all of the physiological facts of transexualism, only a stunningly uneducated belief that Chaz Bono, by transforming from Chastity to Chaz, is somehow committing "sin."

Being born a cute little girl and growing up to become a fat, ugly man is never going to be normal. This is not a bigoted statement. It’s a statement that it is simply not the way things work in nature in the vast majority of cases.
I informed my daughter who is a regular and devoted DWTS watcher that she will not be watching this season. I also told her why. It’s so nice to explain the insanity of women who have add-a-dick-to-me’s and dress like mafia men to a nine year old.

I think the best thing that could happen in this situation is for DWTS’s ratings to plummet.

Homosexuality and all of it associated perversions of gender are a corruption of natural human sexuality. Those who promote it as being natural are themselves spreading that corruption. You’re wrong. Chaz will win, or will at least be a second place contender, purely because of political correctness. It determines everything nowadays.
from what I understand about women who become “men”, they don’t ever get a functioning man unit. They just cut their boobs off and pump them up with hormones so they get facial hair.
I say again...the inclusion of Chaz and Nancy Grace is the first “Affirmative Action for Ugly People” success story.

Not to mention nobody voted for Bristol cause she was Hetero. Could you imagine the weeping & wailing if that was the case? Yet it is not only cceptable for the “gay community” to support solely based on sexual preference, it will be lauded. We are going to hell, or we are already there.
She has already went through the surgery so no she no longer has that because that is what they use to construct the new part....

Author too stupid or biased to realize that until just a few short years ago the American Psychiatric Associations classified homosexuality as a mental disorder. So he is either really stupid or is lying on purpose.
