Federal officials said Thursday they've taken down a drug and weapons trafficking ring involving members of a U.S. Iraqi community and a major Mexican drug cartel that was caught selling large amounts of drugs, guns and grenades.
Police in El Cajon said they've arrested more than 60 people in the takedown of the ring, whose members are suspected of being affiliated with the Chaldean Organized Crime Syndicate based in Detroit.
Smugglers were shipping drugs from El Cajon to Iraqis in Detroit, authorities said.
El Cajon and federal police say they have seized 18 pounds of methamphetamine, narcotics, cocaine and other drugs; more than 3,500 pounds of marijuana; $630,000 in cash; four IEDs; and more than 30 guns, including assault rifles.

There is now broad recognition that there is a FULL narco civil war in Mexico, with the main faction opposed to US interest being the Zetas. And the US position is that the “good guys” (a relative term) down there is the Sinaola Cartel.
That’s why straw-buyers in the USA working for the Sinaloa went unopposed —why subsequent discovery of THEIR weapons down there was seen by shadowy US forces as, “signs of progress”. IOW those were cases in which it became clear that the (sorta) pro-US side was getting US arms and putting out hits.
See?
So it’s not just a drug-war down there but now, but is instead a full-blown civil-war, even if it’s still unannounced.
Ah, and a side-effect would be that all us up here could not own guns, yeah.
Just a little side-note there...
Mexican drug cartels (perhaps even the Mexican Govt or laRaza) and planted Iraqis - doubtful they are the Christian sort of Iraqis either.

I play softball with a Chaldean and asked him what exactly did Chaldean mean. He stated that they are Baghdad Christians......
I then asked him if they had any loyalties to muslims and all I could make out of his rant was something about mothers and sheep........I took that as a no.
