Residents of 16 states and the District of Columbia gave President Obama approval ratings of 50% or higher during the first half of 2011, led by the District of Columbia, Connecticut, Maryland, and Delaware. Idaho residents had the least positive appraisal of his performance, with 27% approving.
These results are based on aggregated Gallup Daily tracking data from January through June, consisting of nearly 90,000 interviews nationally. Obama averaged 47% approval on a nationwide basis during this time. Each state's data is weighted so it is demographically representative of the state's population. The full data for each state can be found on page 2 of this report.
Obama's support is greatest in the East, with 8 of his 10 highest approval ratings occurring in states located in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic region of the country. The 2 non-Eastern states ranking among the 10 highest are Obama's home states of Hawaii and Illinois.
States giving Obama his lowest approval ratings are more varied regionally, with several in the West but also including Southern and Midwestern states.

This is BS. How is 43% “average” while 53% is “above average”?
He needs to be at 50% to win. I’d say 50% is where average begins (maybe 49% at best).

Quite frankly, I’d really like to separate my future from these idiot filled states.
They want BS government like this, then let them fund it 100%.
I want nothing to do with this crap any longer.

States with the smallest share of idiots, moochers and communists:
Bottom 10 States, Obama Job Approval, January-June 2011
Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Arkansas, Montana, Kentucky, North Dakota, Alabama, Kansas.
I'm proud to say, I've at least stayed overnight in all of these states, was born in one of them and lived in five of them.

Maryland is doing very well under Obama and they just re-elected Dem governor O Malley for imposing a massive tax increase on the poor and middle class(as well as expensive green energy mandates) , which he then rewarded them again with a increased tax on Alcohol to pay for state college aid (discounts) for illegals as well as other stuff.

I’m in MA and my in-laws are in CT. I can confirm that Obama remains godlike in his awesomeness. This message is communicated to me constantly.

He is below 50% in all the battlground states.
Florida 47%
Virginia 48%
Ohio 45%
Pennsylvania 48%
Missouri 42%
Wisconsin and Michigan are at 50% but other than that he is a dead campaign running in every swing state. And a dem incumbent shouldn't have to worry about Wisconsin and Michigan. Heck he is at 44% in Oregon and that should be solidly blue.
On top of this all the poll is from Gallup. It only looks at adults, not even US Citizens much less likely voters. Not a good day for Obama.

If you click on the states in the map, the average for that particular state will be highlighted.

Like we are surprised that these states are pro Commie?
If this is all Obummer has to hang his hat on, he is doomed. DC doesn't even count.
