The first trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is now online. It premiered this weekend before Harry Potter. You can watch it at the link.

Looks awesome! Doesn't show much, but it is a teaser...we don't get to see Anne Hathaway as Catwoman but it does show Tom Hardy as Bane.

Only one year to go!

In this installment:

batman's voice gets so husky that becomes addicted to menthol cough drops

an evil light bulb magnate declares an embargo on light bulbs, resulting in every scene having hardly any illumination at all aside from light from people's indiglo watches and cell phones

Bruce Wayne enters into a love triangle into his voluptuous eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist

the new batmobile is tractor with a cattle-catcher in the front, painted black. It proceeds to destroy most of the sets in the film, but no one notices because it's too dark to see.

Bane seems to fit perfect for Nolan’s more realistic feeling to Batman. I can’t imagine CatLady helping in anyway though.

Tom Hardy was great in Inception, better than that pu**y, DiCrapio. It sucks that the Penguin is not in it, nor the Riddler.

He was also amazing as Heathcliff in a version of Wuthering Heights!

Yeah, and Tom Hardy is a great actor who’s a perfect choice. His performance from “Bronson” was chilling.

I read a description from a news site that got exclusive access to the Catwoman suit. Like Bane, it’s designed more with functionality in mind to fit in with Nolan’s more realistic style. It’s less about the sexy fetishism and more about her being a stealthy jewel thief or burglar. I’m thinking the studio will release a picture soon.

Wow, seems like it’s been forever since we last had a Bat-Movie-Ping.

(It’s actually been since July 21, 2008. So like 3 years, lol)

Haven’t been following TDKR as obsessively as I did TDK. Getting older, getting married, buying a house, etc., sorta does that to you.

But still, with the release of the trailer, I expect the anticipation for this movie will really start kicking into high gear soon. The Dark Knight was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of movie, but I’m excited about this one too, and I think it’ll be another fun ride!

Thanks for the ping, pcottraux:

Great looking (with shades of ‘Inception’ towards its end) trailer.

Never thought much of ‘Bane’ as a comic book bad guy. Though I’m looking forward to Tom Hardy’s take on the character and as ‘Rikki Tarr’ in the upcoming ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’.

Also Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has shown great promise in any role given him. He and Hardy thoroughly rocked as Arthur and Eames in ‘Inception’.

Not thrilled about Ann Hathaway as Selina/Catwoman. A mediocre, one trick pony actress who has yet to excel in any role. My personal choice would be Emily Blunt (British accent and all) just to see her run with it.

Jack.

I was hoping for the title “The Caped Crusader”.

Here are two new pictures I had framed. Also, a movie cut-out a guy sent me. The small picture is a moive cell of 'Batman Returns' signed by Danny DeVito.

The second picture is a "The Dark Knight" movie poster signed by Aaron Eckhart. I ran into his father last April at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. I was wearing one of my TDK tee shirts and he started a conversation with me! Not a great pic since I haven't taken it out the plastic yet. His signature is very light to the right of Batman.

You’re welcome, sir. “Inception” was one of the best movies of last year, so I certainly don’t have a problem with it having a similar style or feel. The cast was amazing and Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy will be great I’m sure. (As well as Marion Cotillard).

Bane was never my favorite villain, either, but Tom Hardy is such a great actor I’m certain it will be a memorable villain. Honestly, I never liked Ra’s Au Ghul that much either, but the way he was handled in the first movie was perfect...the essence of the character preserved, but with a Nolan-style take.

Emily Blunt would have been great, but I’ll give Anne Hathaway a chance.

I really thought it was going to be "Shadow of the Bat."

That's some cool stuff you got there, bro. I've got a big collection of Batman comic books, action figures, and memorabilia from the Dark Knight, but most of it's been relegated to the top shelf in the closet (My wife isn't a fan. But she DID allow me to keep it all, so it was sort of a win. LoL).

I have some stuff in boxes, but I have one dresser in the second bedroom, next to this computer, that is my shrine. I get weird stuff from all kinds of people that know me.

They’ll buy something they see somewhere and give it to me like a friend that found a little baby Batman plastic squeeze doll at some garage sale.

My wife threw me a surprise 50th with a Batman theme.
