New London — The city turned off the water at the new whale tail fountain over the weekend after someone reportedly defecated in the water.

"People are using the tail as a latrine,'' Evelyn Louziotis said. "It's an $11 million bathroom."

$11 Million for a fountain?!? Maybe it is a taxpayer returning the crapping upon they took for having to pay for that. (I know it isn’t, but spending that much on a fountain to me is a bigger story).

Looks like part of the problem is due to the bums.

A song to go with the story.

An $11 million toilet? Sounds like they need to put this at the new 9-11 exhibit in NY. They have no toilets there.

"We are trying to be proactive with homeless people and people who are intoxicated in public,'' he said. "We are trying to provide the best care we can for them to get additional services for those who call more often."

Liberals. This is their mistake. Treating a law enforcement problem as a therapeutic opportunity. What they need to do is make the Parade an unwelcome place for bums and vagrants. Let them get their "services" somewhere else, and return the park to the law abiding citizens who pay for it.

But they won't, and it will only get worse.

an $11M fountain is a stupid government trick if you ask me. Reminds me of the California high school that cost $100M to build but now they don’t have the $3M a year they need to run it. lol

Actually, it’s a common problem in most big city fountains. The ‘homeless’ use them for bathing and toilets.
