In-N-Out, the cult California burger chain is finally making its way to Texas. The family owned business, which does not accept franchises, has been reluctant to expand beyond the West Coast Until Now! In-N-Out has unveiled plans to open at the Firewheel Town Center in Garland, TX.
In-N-Out Burger truly is the cats meow, and best known for its not-so-secret basic menu and fresh, high-quality ingredients; it holds the cachet of Manhattans famed Shake Shack, with the efficiency of a McDonalds. They cook your food as youre ordering (Ive seen it, wasted
in Vegas, animal-style), so youre literally in and out.
I felt the same way after my sister-in-law had us go to IN-N-OUT. Nothing special.
Hey, cut him a break here. I bet he loves you almost as much as them.
I remember seeing a few bumper-stickers with the "B" and "R" covered/removed when I lived in Tucson. I don't remember there being an In-N-Out there when I was there, but I remember the stickers.
Actually I did like the Swedish meatballs there.
“Chick-fil-A burgers just dont fill me up, ya know?”
Well, duh - ya gotta “eat mor chikin”! Sheesh...
“Whataburger is better.”
In San Antone in the 60’s, Whataburger was fantastic, even Dairy Queen tried to copy their recipe.
However, I tried a couple different WB franchises in San Angelo and Kerrville and was underwhelmed. I was embarrassed because I had talked it up to my friend from NC and it was pretty average. Same thing with DQ, all these joints are regressing to a low average to compete with MacD and BK.
BORK BORK BORK!
Funny, that looks like the flowchart from my last assignment (I implement large application systems)!
This thread is making me hungry. There is an In-N-Out within walking distance.
Later.
No doubt. It certainly was better than those. For the price range, it's in my top five - Whataburger, Blake's Lottaburger (Albuquerque, NM area), The Big Bun (Boise, ID - not sure if it still exists), and Arctic Circle (small chain in the intermountain northwest) - round that out. In the next price tier, it would be Big Judd's (Boise, ID), Twisters Grill (Albuquerque area), and Five Guys. Big Judd's is my overall favorite.
In-N-Out Burger is on my bucket list. I may get a chance to go out to California in the next year or so, if so I WILL try it.
There are still a lot of regional chains that in their own market will compete well against the larger national corporations.
I can think of several here in the Cincinnati-Dayton area and in the Midwest that have varying degrees of “cult” following.
My very first real job was at an Arctic Circle in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Never have eaten at an In-N-Out burger but I love
their Funny Car
Trying to think of that two level Drive In near Georgia
Tech U,great place...remember the guy going whata ya have,
whata ya have.
Love Back Yard Burger
The one in my hometown is (Nampa, ID).
That's the only reason I'd stop and buy one. I probably make much better burgers at home.
That much excitement, huh? Sounds like they're going to be a huge success in Texas. Good for them.
