In-N-Out Burger Opening at Firewheel Town Center in Garland, TX
Apartment Ninjas ^

In-N-Out, the cult California burger chain is finally making its way to Texas. The family owned business, which does not accept franchises, has been reluctant to expand beyond the West Coast…Until Now! In-N-Out has unveiled plans to open at the Firewheel Town Center in Garland, TX.

In-N-Out Burger truly is the cat’s meow, and best known for its not-so-secret basic menu and fresh, high-quality ingredients; it holds the cachet of Manhattan’s famed Shake Shack, with the efficiency of a McDonald’s. They cook your food as you’re ordering (I’ve seen it, wasted…in Vegas, animal-style), so you’re literally in and out.

You are correct.

First of all, the cooking process is entirely in view of the customers, so they can’t tamper with the food.

Secondly, they have a very strict hiring process. They pay well for a burger joint. The order takers have to be very intelligent and organized.

They are a great company with great quality food. And they have a great business model: burgers and fries. That’s it.

No chicken, no salads, etc. Just burgers.

I have tried so hard to like the In-n-Out burgers, but they just aren’t my cup of tea. Give me a Chick-fil-A any day.

Now, at In-n-Out you can get their fries topped with a really good ‘secret’ sauce and grilled onions. It’s on their secret menu.

John 3:16 on the bottom of every cup! That’s great! I can’t believe that someone hasn’t screamed that they have been offended, especially in California.

Makes me love their food that much more.

A series, honest prediction.

(posting this from California)

Within 5 years, In-N-Out will relocate from California to Texas.

In-and-Out famously pays their crews higher wages than the rest of the fast food chains, which means they are able to recruit and retain a better class of employee. Starting pay these days is $10/hr. The average fast food employee works someplace less than a year. The average In-and-Out employee stays over two, and their policy of training and promotion means that 80% of their managers started as crew.

And they do all this with the simplest menu of any fast food chain. They sell hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double hamburgers, double cheeseburgers, fries, shakes and soda. And that's it.

In other words...

Simpler product line.

Better products.

Better employees.

Formula almost always works.

The simplicity of the menu is part of their success. McDonald’s, for example, has branched out into gourmet coffee and chicken sandwiches and other things. They don’t do these other things very well. And by comparison, McD’s food isn’t the greatest to start with.

I’ve heard we’re supposed to boycott Chik-Fill-A (sp?) because they support traditional marriage. Just saying.... Can a boycott of In and Out be far behind, if they have John 3:16 on every cup?

Separation of burgers and state, anyone???????

No matter, liberal outrage will spew forth at some point against In and Out.

YES!!!!!!

The one thing I was sure I would miss when I move from California to Texas was In-N-Out!!!

If you haven’t had an In-N-Out double double (or triple triple when I am a little hungrier than usual), you have NOT had a burger!

If you order animal style, you’re in the cult.

I've eaten IN and OUT burgers on the same day I ate 5 GUYS burgers (jetting from San Diego to Washington DC).

They are different, but the same ~ all the best. Can't get better.

My favorite IN and OUT is right there with Vista and Oceanside meet. My favorite 5 GUYS is one of the originals just down the street.

The fries are different though. IN and OUT fixes a broad cross section version of the McDonald's stuff. 5 GUYS makes these traditional size fresh oil fried versions.

Plus 5 GUYS has always served mushrooms.

It's good that IN and OUT is now 2.5 hours closer!
