Die is cast - Gingrich
Friends and Fiends in DC | MB26

Posted on 04/28/2011 12:18:51 AM PDT by MindBender26

Am in DC tonight with some very well-placed strong Conservatives. Pardon any typos. We did some serious discussing with liquid fuel tonight.

They are overjoyed.

If reports about Huckabee being out are true, and although not confirmed, seem to be, that removes 2 of the 3 strong Conservative Southerners for 2012.

With Barbour and Huckabee out, that leaves the vital South to Gingrich.

Gingrich has the winning mesage for 2012;

"We have all suffered under 4 years of far-left liberal glitz. I may not be as cute as Mr. Obama, I may not read the teleprompter as well as Mr. Obama, but I do know we can not tax ourselves back to propserity.

I know we can not lower gasoline prices by letting every other country, friend and foe, drill for our oil but refuse to let our energy companies explore for that same oil.

I know we will not win the war against terrorists by bowing down to the kings who are financing it.

I.... and every Amercan.... knows that we will not all learn to get along by promoting class warfare from the White House.

... and I know how to make policies that will help every American.... not just read some far-left pap off that teleprompter! "

Most of all Gingrich is taking the absolutely best public position right now..... NOTHING, because it is way too early....

Candiates will burn out quickly. (Remember when everyone KNEW 2008 would be Hillary vs. Rudy Gulliani?)

Newt is lying in the weeds, waiting for the others to burn out, then he will pounce.

I'm betting an Explatory Committee within 10 days,

The best position right now is making Obama as week as possible. Because every single doubt cast in a Democrat's mind about Obama winning a second term has to be exploited. They've banked their dollars so far with Obama, and that is money just sitting there, ready to come pouring out into senate and house race after race.

If that money has to be spent to support Obama instead, especially against a fellow Democrat in his primaries, then we've got a shot at winning the White House, the senate and the house, not to mention state houses and governor seats across the nation.

You're right, Gingrich is right there with nothing. Ready to let everyone wear themselves out before dipping in to save the day. But the only day he might save is Obama and the Democrats. Campaign's started, son, time to get off the bench and start playing.

3 strong Conservative Southerners, Barbour, Huckabee and Gingrich?

Maybe one of those three, and it ain’t the one who poses on global warming loveseats with Nancy Pelosi.

Not just no, but hell no!! Gingrich is not a conservative. If Newt is the best we can do we are doomed as a party.
I am sick and tired of having to vote for the lesser of two evils. Will I vote for him if the GOP shoves him down our throats? Yes, but I will once again have to vote while holding my nose and gagging uncontrolably.

Newt lost his salt when he began to nuzzle up to and with Nanny the red Pelouise.

I say this sadly as there was a time when I really liked and believed Newt's words. The ‘jon stewart’ media will clean his clock.

We did some serious discussing with liquid fuel tonight.

What type of fuel was that? LSD with a kerosene chaser? Gingrich is the embodiment of the Progressive shift in the GOP. Remember this?

Newt should do the right thing, and stay out of it.

A leader should have leadership qualities.

Newt has none.

We need to find a “leader”, not another “oh maybe he can win”, because he can’t win.

I’d vote for Gingrich, I went to his speech in MA and he was sooooo much easier to listen to and look upon than Zer0 or Bush.

Sorry, but I refuse to believe we’re that dead.

Let Newt run. He’ll never win the GOP nomination. He might bring some good campaign fodder to be used against Zero, to the debate; but, he won’t win.

Gingrich has the winning mesage for 2012

Gingrich has the winning mesage for 1994

He has accumulated far too much baggage and taken too many wrong turns to be an effective candidate in 2012.

Gingrich has a very good argument for drilling and we must not bash him and every republican other than our own favorite candidate.

We need as many brains possible to get into the debates whether we think they are Presidential material or not. We learn from each other. I think Gingrich, Trump, Palin, Keyes and everybody in Freerepublic from the smartest poster to the dumbest here would have something positive to bring to the debates.

Let's throw all of our ideas into the bucket, look them over and perhaps whoever does end up with the nominee will have a bunch of new ideas to mix with their own to not only beat Obama but also bring America back on its feet.

“...that removes 2 of the 3 strong Conservative Southerners for 2012.”

OK, I’m going to be as gentle as I can here.

The first step in overcoming a drinking problem is admitting you have a problem.

Let’s take a step back here for a sec. It’s OK to put on the “beer goggles” every now and then when you’re young... we’ve all done it... we’re at a bar with the buddies, we’re swilling too much beer and at closing time, we end up with a girl who, in the sober light of day, we probably might not have swapped spit with.... but those are one-night benders, son.

You’re supposed to learn from those mistakes that you don’t make long-term choices under the influence.

Here, you’re talking about at least a four year commitment. As we’re seeing in the last 10 years, making poor choices in this area has dire consequences.

I think you need to take that first step and admit you have a drinking problem, because none of these men are ‘conservatives’ in any sense of the word. I’ll give you a pass on your political judgement because you were impaired, but I’m telling you that you’re going to need to sober up before about September of this year.

;-)

Sarah Palin is more likely than Gingrich to speak the South’s language. Those complaining about her enemies usually don’t note that she’s never made any campaign promises except in a previous campaign life under McCain’s shadow. Once Palin does begin making campaign promises, the opposition will likely melt away like the ice caps in Al Gore’s fantasy world.
