I frequent a few websites where a thread will move to the top of the list of existing threads based on the most recent post.
I know that "bttt" means "bump to the top" and I've seen this used a number of times on FR. But I've never observed, on FR, any thread change or move its position, no matter how recent a post in that thread has been. So why is "bttt" used by a poster if it doesn't change the position of the thread?
Is there a setting I need to enable? Thanks.
Good question. I have no idea either.
As far as I know, it won’t bump to the top if you are sorting by “articles”, but it will if you are sorting by “activity”.
btt
If you go to my account, you can access all of the threads that you have posted on. Some use this so that they can find it later when they have more time to read it.
If you sort by activity, it makes a difference.
oops, that should be sorting by “comments”.
BTTT.
Switch to set? Yes. Just press “ANY” key.
Are you logged in?
I believew it goes to the top of the Latest Posts page...
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/*/index?tab=comments
If you are viewing the Latest Articles page...
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/*/index
then click on the Comments tab to get to Latest Posts page.
If you’re viewing the comment section of articles, the story goes Back To The Top to be viewed. Today, I used it mostly as an acknowledgment to a post as comments these days move fast on FR making BTTT not as effective as back in the day.
BMTI.....
If you take the sounds “Co Ca Co La”
and translate them into Chinese
The coligrophy associated with them
are understood as
“Bite the wax toad pole.”
I hope this helps.
Just under the freepathon progress bar there is the option to sort by articles, activity or comments, the ‘bttt’ puts the thread at the top of the lost of comments. The ‘bttt’ can also be used as a way for posters to bookmark certain threads for later reading.
activity tab
Your query returned no results.
It does move it to the top of the comments page, of course it’s quickly supplanted due to the vast amount of comments posted on the site. I use it to bookmark a thread that’s caught my eye, but I don’t have time to read until later.
Hmmmm...
I see CTRl..ALT
I not see the “ANY” key....
Obviously, you don't have the "right" keyboard.
