[Calming down.] I do appreciate the old curmudgeon’s support of the Fair Tax. Interestingly, the Fair Tax was heralded long before by Alan Keyes — the guy who drafted the Mexico City Language [withholding U.N. ‘dues’ according to the U.N.’s funding of abortion. Kinda’ goes full circle, doesn’t it?]

Walk-in closets think they’re so superior.

Someone mentioned ‘picking our fights wisely’. Very well, I’m willing to find common ground on abortion. How about post-birth abortion after a trial run?

I liked the South Park take on abortion, where Cartman's mom decided to abort Cartman in the 25th trimester (age 8+).

When President Clinton objected, she shrieked "Keep your laws off MY BODY, mister!!!!"

Maybe you are correct — we should abort all closets we deem inferior prior to their construction. I’m for closet conformity.

And where can illegals find work if we keep breeding? Darn selfish of us not to kill our kids for them.

Yeah, in the spirit of Obama, we should trade in closets. Come to think of it, we could trade in babies too for ‘economy sized’. Maybe alter our genes too. Dwarves and midgets produce less carbon. Genes-for-clunkers.

Not certain about the ‘buy back’ aspect, but I still believe that every human model deserves a trial run at least. You know, kick the tires, spank the bottoms ....

For a sports-baby, we could have one produced at Obama Motors, call it the “Wee Waler” Compact. Full height of 1 foot and can double as garden gnome later in life.

Yep... I used to listen to him until one time he went on his abortion rant during one radio segment. He lost me right then and there. I have never turned back to his show.

I'm not siding with Boortz, just pointing out his point of view. Boortz would just as soon legalize drugs, never talk about abortion or homosexual marriage. Boortz is an iron clad Libertarian.

When it comes to abortion, as sick as it is, it is legal. We can defund Planned Parenthood. It is a start. If you can come up with enough money to have your hair cut each month, you can pay for the killing of your unborn baby! Not on my dime or conscience.

Amen, brother!

I live in metro Atlanta, and Boortz has always been a bully and a jerk. I listened a lot during the Clinton years, but could no longer stomach his program once he turned hard against social conservatives.

I haven’t listened to him regularly in years now, which is too bad because he provides some good information and intelligent analysis of tax and spending issues.

God bless

It does make a difference. There's a reason why Boortz (to his great frustration) has never been able to gain a much larger audience. He's a Libertarian demagogue who, for all his love of American liberty, never learned any basic Dale Carnegie. That's both his "charm" and curse.

It's easy to mistake him for a Conservative, as he often defends Republicans and is wise to the Democrat Socialists, but he mistakes "reproductive rights" for liberty while having no regard for those among us with the absolute least political clout, the Terri Schiavo's and the unborn.

It would be hard to confuse him with many Libertarians, however, since he defended President Bush on Iraq. Compare that position with the isolationist strain among most spokesmen for the Libertarian Party, for example.

And, by his own admission, he often beat the drum to provoke a knee-jerk response among callers.

Boortz is an iron clad Libertarian.

From the Preamble to the Libertarian Party Platform:

As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty; a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.

Seems to me Boortz fails that test since his position requires taxpayers who morally object to abortion to fund abortion for others.

Niedermeyer has made an excellent observation about the death of Royal having affected Boortz in a profound way and also removed a moderating influence. Lately, it seems just about anything will launch Boortz into an "abortion is a losing issue for Republicans" rant. While Boortz has never been one to hold back, he now can't let an hour go by that he doesn't bang on this subject like a three-year-old with a new drum on Christmas.

Roe v Wade will never be overturned by the court. It will take an amendment. So either go for a Constitutional amendment, or quit wasting time and energy.
