You know, I'm pretty jaded when it comes to advertising...but that was really impressive.

The only thing I wouldn't care for is the cooking surface, I still like gas cooktops!

The motto is “Made possible by Corning”. That was “made possible” by Adobe AfterEffects and a slew of other non-corning produced video editting tools.

Another “the FUUUUUTURE” video. I remember when Citrix put theirs out to celebrate version 8. We’re in version 11 now and they got the web app to work a little better.

Also, these glass surfaces must also have cameras in them, because not one person was looking into a camera in the video, yet videos are all “At attention” presented.

Feh. It’s neat, but don’t look forward to it. Our future is one of hide-outs, street-by-street gunfights and hording cans of SPAM.

Oh, I have the stove already and I love it. 40 inch glass top. Easy to keep clean.

That future is for the liberal elite ruling class. It will be much harder and harsher for the rest of us.

Another “the FUUUUUTURE” video.

Yup. The Corning products in that house were only a small part of the whole. That house probably has a central server installed somewhere that runs all the different apps and interfaces. Then there's the electronics. The glass is abut a small part of it. Cool vid though.

The irony of this was in what it didn’t show, because it is less “showy”, but has a huge “wow” factor.

For example, there is a nano-coating for glass now that makes it “self-cleaning”. Dust, dirt, water, mud, greases and oil, etc., don’t stick to it.

Other glasses that are transparent or opaque, depending if there is an electrical current running through them.

http://www.physorg.com/news184310039.html

Spray-on liquid glass is transparent, non-toxic, and can protect virtually any surface against almost any damage from hazards such as water, UV radiation, dirt, heat, and bacterial infections. The coating is also flexible and breathable, which makes it suitable for use on an enormous array of products.

I want one!. Heck, I'll take one of each. Another vision of “ubiquitous computing” conceptualized by Xerox PARC many years ago.
