In short, they were smart. And accomplished. And ambitious.

A good combination to build a civilization where a civilization needs to be built.

Tsar Peter saved us all from that.

Tsar Peter, descendant of Andrei Ivanovich Kobyla, a Rus or Varangian whose predecessors had come from Scandinavia to found Kiev as a waystation along their trade routes to the middle east.

For example, William the Conqueror who invaded England in 1066 was actually a Viking descendent whose great-grandfathers had conquered Normandy.

Norman-dy.......or North-Man-dy. And in true Viking style, William ravaged the English countryside in 1066. So even though King Alfred's Saxons kept out the Viking raiders, the Vikings thru their descendant William of Normandy eventually ascended to the English throne. William the Conqueror, believe it or not, is an ancestor of Prince Charles :-)

I'm of Irish descent and a few years ago was diagnosed with Dupuytren's Contracture (not a big deal).
While researching on-line, I discovered - "the disease originated with the Vikings, who spread it throughout Northern Europe and beyond as they traveled and intermarried."
Yes, I have Viking in my blood!

Loved the video!! What is AMAZING to me over this issue is that a school is teaching history of White people. My son took honors World History in Middle School and very little education was about Vikings, Celts etc... the Mayans etc.. yes.

Of course the Swedes founded the first Russian state...

One of my ancestors (Brian Boru) died fighting the Vikings in 1014, but for all I know I have some Viking ancestry on other lines... so I'm not going to take sides.

I don't see any mention of Brett Favre. How does he figure into this?

They do teach some things about white people. How the evil crusaders oppressed the peaceful Saracens (sic). Slavery, but not how the enslaved people came to be slaves. The Holocaust but not who fought and bled to stop it. How WWII ended but not Pearl Harbor and certainly not about Nanking or unit 371.

If it shows white people at their worst, they teach it. If it shows white people any other way or any other people in a negative light, they don't teach it.
