I agree with Harry Reid. How can we possibly go on with our lives if the taxpayers don't fund the cowboy poetry festival? Enjoy the sing-along.
YOUTUBE = WHERE HAVE ALL THE COWBOY POETS GONE?

sorry cowboy poets, your pens have been placed on indefinite hold.
I was in Carson City, NV during the poetry fest a few years back. The place was jammed. It wasn't Woodstock, but it was heavily attended. Hotels were at capacity and RV's were everywhere. I can't imagine how any government funding was needed to make it a bigger success than it was.
Didn’t it play for you? I just clicked and it played.
Harry only wants to fund his kind of “bareback” cowboys. He hates the “real” men—their values are antithetical to his anti-Natural Law Theory.
These sick political people have to be exposed for the creepy, anti-Americans that they are.
I thought cowboy poets and pigs are only appreciated when
their dead?
I’ve come back recently and put up several songs. I have been working more than ever before to survive the Obamaconomy. Good to hear from you and thanks for the info on the festival.
NPR was the major promoter of Lesbianism and Homosexuality and Polygamy in the media. I quit listening to it 20 years ago because of that obvious fact.
Their job is to normalize the unnatural, so children will not be able to tell right from wrong. Destroy moral absolutes and Christianity (which made this country the greatest)....
Children cal not be logical, reasoned people because of the lies and cognitive dissonance that is put into their heads at young ages.
Progressive/Marxists want to easily herd the masses....do not want intelligent thinkers.
Yep, I used that graphic in the song.
Wish I would have had that graphic for the song.
“I can’t imagine how any government funding was needed to make it a bigger success than it was.”
You are 100% correct, my FRiend. The show will go on and will now be even bigger, thanks to the despicable slime ball, Harry Reid, for bringing so much attention to it.
There seems to be a few here that are trying to discredit the historical value of real Cowboy Poetry. Most of these poets (both men and women) are the last of a dying breed, soon to become extinct.
Their verse, poems, stories and ramblings from days long gone are proudly shared with those who did not live during a time when men were men. They lived it, they rode the trails, branded the stock and rode the rodeos in their spare time.
Below is a link to my old friend, Bob Schild, well respected Cowboy Poet, bareback & saddle bronc-buster from the old days, rancher & saddle maker, as well as an old school mate of my Father’s.
He wrote this verse for my Father when hearing about his passing.
PALS NOW GONE
Sore missed are the comrades who’ve passed with the storm,
The best of the litter most often the norm.
The cream of creation has flitted away, though some are remaining-all weathered and gray.
But death, be it final, can’t keep friends apart, for old childhood buddies still live in our hearts!
Written with respect to (my Dad’s name) and those like him. Bob Schild, Feb. 28 2005.
I guarantee that Cowboy Poets are already working on their next poems that will probably start with something like NPR and Harry Reid be damned......
Bob is a real cowboy and I suggest to those that childishly equate their poetry and yearly gathering with Brokeback Mountain images take the time to read story below.
By the way, if old Bob Schild (80+) heard you call him a sissie-pants for reading poetry, he’d jump off his horse, grab you by the neck and twist it around a couple of times before he had you hog-tied in less than 6.5 seconds.

Didn’t mean to offend real cowboys. This was a parody and was really intended to slap Harry Reid for wanting to keep sucking up our money.
I saw that as soon as I listened to the music, shortly after I spontaneously posted the pic.
Unfortunately, I dare not comment further on Harrie Weed, cowperson poets, or the types of individuals who like them, or Jim would ban me from this forum for life.
Cowboy poets are America’s minstrels. Like the early Greek scholars, they true philosophers.
Yes, they are.
If you read the story about Bob Schild, you will see that he was, and still is a real cowboy. My dad grew up with him and Harry Hart’s son.
Harry Hart, Jr., my dad and one other local fellow left home at 14 and drove an old $15.00 Model ‘T’ to Jackson Hole, WY. They lived in a tent along the creek until the snow got so heavy that the tent caved in.
There is a great story about my dad and his friends at this link.
