sorry, missed the previous post.
Beautiful - inside and out.
I’ve seen that movie at least 5 times. :-)
Which means she was a lady. Don’t think that there are many left and NO “new” ones.
Yes, real actors and actresses are almost gone. What we have now are a bunch of booze addled, drug addicted, anorexic freaks, most of whom couldn’t act their way out of a paper bag.
Rest in peace, Ms. Russell.
What....Again???
Aww, I’m sorry to hear it. I got to shake her hand at CPAC once, maybe 10 years ago.
(that was before it got weird)
Pertty! I never met her. Pity.
WIKI At the height of her career, Russell started the "Hollywood Christian Group", a weekly Bible study at her home which was arranged for Christians in the film industry.
Russell appeared occasionally on the Praise The Lord program on the
Trinity Broadcasting Network, a Christian TV channel based in Costa Mesa, Cali.
Russell was at times a prominent Republican Party member who attended
Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration with other notables from Hollywood Lou Costello, Dick Powell, June Allyson, Anita Louise and Louella Parsons.
We got to see her perfom at a funder for Soldiers Organized Services http://sosride.org/ in Palm Springs.
SOS provides free transportation from PS airport to 29 Palms, which could easily cost the Marine $150—it’s about an hour away.
Jane was wonderful, she has always performed for the troops. The event was set up like a 1940s USO show. It was well attended & it was great to see a living legend. She looked just gorgeous.
Sorry to lose her. She did many good things.
Something to do with the way her breast were moving under a very low-cut top she wore for the movie, aggravated by the pose she affected in the scene.
Details are sketchy in my memory, but I do recall a picture of her, somewhere, in a low cut top, in a barn or something, a still from a movie, I think.
All told, one classy lady.
One of the few smoldering with sex appeal, all without taking her clothes off.
"The Outlaw"
Really Strange.
I was researching her just yesterday. She used to live in a friends house in Sedona and much to my surprise I found that house was on the market but had only been taken off because of a contract.
She used to do her 18 hour girdle / bra commercials from that location. That is how I knew that she lived in my old High School friends house.
Loved her in Paleface/Son of Paleface.
Just an 18-hour bra.
RIP to a true American icon.
