I never cease to be amazed at what passes as “music” these days and I’m only 35.
What ever happened to relying on your voice and telling a story?
Today’s lyrics consist of a tired refrain.
What real talent looks like:
Helplessly Hoping - Crosby, Stills & Nash

This is one stuned beiber.
Yikes...that “guy”. I am sure his father is proud...
Don't worry, Justin. The Hanson brothers are waiting at the other end of the short fame highway to talk you down.
Very true, it's a little disturbing to see adults trashing a sixteen year-old kid who's actually conducting himself far better than many famous teens who preceded him.
They came on the scene when I was in school and I did not like them then or now. They should have had haircuts, too.
“Regardless of hairstyle, none of the Beatles looked like girls.”
Sorry, but I remember sitting around when they first showed the Beatles on B&W TV. And I remember that we guys looked at them and wondered why they looked like girls. None of the American R&R groups looked feminine up to that time. I very clearly remember that. And the more feminine the guys looked, the more the girls screamed and yelled.
I first heard of Bieber when I was reading an article how some of his politically liberal fans wanted to link him to the Democrime party somehow. I went, "Justin who?"
And yet, his name came up last night during our youth group devotional time. My fellow youth leader asked, "have you got the (Bieber) Fever?" I responded, "The cure is more Cowbell."
(And none of the youth got my reference, sigh.)
Drink and fight, every night
Take your women away
Embrace the dark and leave your mark
You know there’s hell to pay
We live proud and love it loud
You wish you were one of the ‘Crue’
Worship your transvestite gods
My sword will run you through!

I think he has a real pretty mouth
I don't make fun of him but it seems to me that teeny-bopper idols used to be like David Cassidy...a little bit "older" looking.
I have to admit that I don't understand the attraction here.
I really did feel bad about putting it in Music/Entertainment as what Bieber does hardly qualifies as music or entertainment. I guess I could have selected Humor.
I don't understand it either. When I was my daughter's age it was Shaun Cassidy. For her it's Justin Bieber. He's actually a talented kid. He's been playing drums since he was 2 or 3 years old and he plays guitar and piano. Considering the "music" that's out there, his lyrics are VERY tame. My husband and I don't mind that she's a fan.
I didn’t realize it was a guy for a very long time and only then because someone pointed out it was a guy.
What Beiber has learned is that even though he’s only 12 (or whatever) he’s still a reviled “White Male” and, therefore, while popular culture will allow him get on the bus, he must sit in the back.
I wonder how many here realize that probably two-thirds of the males in the Western nations under 25 had Bieber hair, er, Beatle hair, from about 1965 and for ten or more years afterward.
And have they ever taken a peek at portraits of our founding fathers?
Justin Bieber is a lesbian.
I'm going to assume you either are male (and thus were never a teenage girl) or if you are female, you were remarkably mature in your teens. I think at a certain age girls go crazy over whoever the flavor of the day is, whether its screaming and crying for the Beatles or screaming for Justin Bieber.
I agree with some other posters. Let's just let this kid alone. Some day he will no longer be a star and hopefully he'll be able to accomodate himself to that without turning to drugs or suicide.
