It sounds like you have a fairly narrow, more traditional definition of “rock and roll”. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bill Haley and the Comets, early Elvis... that’s about it for rock and roll. I can buy that. I agree the term “rock band” covers way too much territory, anyway.
You definitely want to the test the right of free speech don’t you...LOL
