Is Katie Couric out at CBS?
No one knows, but the new Chairman of CBS News said he doesn't know yet whether Katie Couric wants to stay at the network.
From 'Broadcasting & Cable...'
"What are your thoughts on keeping Katie Couric in the family? Do you think she wants to stay?"
"I don't know whether she does. It's a good question. It's high on the list of things to do to spend some time with Katie to find out what she wants to do and what she sees is best for her and what's best for CBS News. "
"But would you be interested in keeping her around if she wants to stay?"
"I just don't know that she does, so it's a little premature. I look forward to spending some time with her"

Not long ago I heard Rush mention that KC was supposed to be in Europe somewhere covering the Egypt thing, but he knows where she really was - “soaking up the sun” at South Beach.
If Katie was playing hookie on this important story, maybe she really does want out.

Coincidentally, the "news" divisions of four of the five major networks are in financial trouble. They change from one left-wing anchor to another, one left-wing management hierarchy to another, and nothing seems to help. They keep losing audience share every year.
Mysteriously, the one major network that does not spend all it's energy demonstrating to the world how consistently they can mincturate into the eyes of Conservative America, has a news division, FOX News, that's going gangbusters, making money hand over fist. They're cleaning the clocks of every other network, especially in news.
Will the other networks change their approach, perhaps deciding to tilt their editorial point of view even a millionth of a degree closer to the center? Probably not.
No, the formula remains: everything we can do to further the agenda of liberalism in America and throughout the world will be done, no matter what it costs our shareholders. We're On A Mission. It's Bigger Than We Are. Of course we're smaller than we were, and getting smaller every year. But, for some reason, the Formula Can Not Change.
