Claims she could not handle intoxicated 12 and 13-year-olds.
(Lorain) - A Lorain woman has lost her chance at a Mother Of The Year award.
Police were called to 2552 Elyria Ave. around 9:00 p.m. Christmas Eve by 32-year-old Stacy Galvin. Galvin told police she had allowed young kids to drink and they were too intoxicated for her to control.
Police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere tells Newsradio WTAM 1100 the kids were Galvans 12-year-old twins and her 13-year-old younger brother.
When police arrived, they found Galvan, whose voice was slurred, arguing with her 12-year-old son and daughter.
Carpentiere says Galvan told the officers she let the kids drink and now they were so drunk she could no longer handle them.
Officers found Galvans 13-year-old brother lying semi-conscious in a puddle of vomit.
The brother was treated for alcohol poisoning and all three kids are in the custody of family. Carpentiere says they appear to be OK, but probably didnt feel very well Christmas morning.
According to the police report, Stacy Galvan puked in the police cruiser and later urinated on herself at the police station.
Galvan was charged with three counts of endangering children and was taken to Lorain County Jail. Carpentiere says shes expected to be in court next week.
This isnt Galvans first brush with the law. Lorain County Common Municipal Court records show appearances for domestic violence, disturbing the peace, numerous motor vehicle violations, assault, vandalism, and drug possession.
Galvan also requested a restraining order against he ex-husband, David Galvan, in November. But it was denied when she failed to appear at the court hearing.
“Stupid kids! Can’t handle their liquor. I’d better call the cops.”
I suppose next it'll be: "According to the police report, [insert name here] puked in the police cruiser and later pi$$ed on herself at the police station."
Oh my - what a truly depraved looking piece of humanity. How sad.
Really!?
I'm shocked. SHOCKED, I say!
Believe she may be a few tacos short of a fiesta platter..
When I was 8,during a camping trip, my father gave me a pony Miller Lite bottle all to myself. My first beer and my first buzz.
I guess dad should have been arrested.
Editor arrested after allowing young kids to write news copy (Lorain, Ohio)
Hey—in one form or another, a lot of “parents” use this excuse to give into their kids. How many times do you hear a “parent” whine that they couldn’t withstand their kids’ tantrums to eat a certain thing at dinner or buy a certain thing? Or not do chores or homework? Way too many modern parents have given up responsibility for parenting and simply give into—and in some cases cater to—their kids. Letting kids drink is just another manifestation of making special meals for kids instead of forcing them to eat what everyone else is eating.
Could have saved a lot of words by just saying she was a LOSER!
"Occifer, come quick and bring the riot skewrad! I've got 'hic', I've got 'hic', there's some angry drunken yutes! Can't handle their liquor!!!"
We may be looking at the next Lindsey Lohan or Drew Barrymore...
The style guide for journalism has gone out the window. And the bar is set even lower these days for bar/restaurant/movie critics.
He obviously knew alcohol wouldn’t affect you.
Mulled wine and such are holiday staples at my house, and the older kids do get a little. They even get to eat the alcohol-containing stews, sauces and desserts we make at home (yes, there is alcohol left in them). Quite the opposite of “making special meals for kids,” they eat what is made, which sometimes contains alcohol. That’s not to say we ever allow them to get drunk or even buzzed. To them alcohol is an ingredient, not something associated with partying or some forbidden fruit they can leverage to rebel against their parents. I like it that way, less chance of abuse later.
Only if you were lying unconcious in a pool of vomit. There are incremental differences between your experience and the children in the article.
Makes my family look like the Cleavers. No mean feat.
