Another Hole-Punch Cloud Spotted

WHEATLAND, Calif. -- Another unusual hole-punch cloud was spotted Tuesday, this time above Placer and Yuba counties.

A similar cloud was seen in the Sacramento area on Dec. 1.

Looks like a missile launch to me. I can tell from the pixels and from seeing quite a few missile launches in my day.

Dense air above the cloud sinks. as it sinks it warms. when it goes through the cloud, it dries/warms the cloud so the water vapor evaporates. hole forms.
