Can anyone recommend some good books of the post-apocolypse-America genre? I read a couple of books that have piqued my interest on the subject.
I'm looking for some books that don't encompass zombies or 26th century steam engine building puritans.
Thanks in advance.
Not exactly a book - but the “Ghost in the Shell” movie and 40 some odd episodes are fine work in this meme.

It's five volumes that you will not want to put down. Cheers.
I have not read Earth Abides but will look for it. I have read the other two and recommend them, especially Canticle for Leibovitz.
I also recommend
Larry Niven Lucifer’s Hammer
and
Steven King The Stand
Thaanks my friend. The whole thing is now available as a single hardback volume of close to1000 pages of small print...much more economical for my readers that way.
Folks can download the entire thing as an ebook for free...I just ask if they like it to please buy the hardback afterwards.
