SAO PAULO (AP) - A man in northeastern Brazil is recovering after surgeons removed a 4-inch (10-centimeter) blade that had been stuck in his head for three years following a bar fight. Edeilson Nascimento, a 29-year-old tire repairman, tells reporters Friday he is feeling great after the three-hour surgery earlier this week. Excerpted per FR posting rules.

Not to be confused with Edson Arantes do Nascimento, who only took soccer balls to the head...

At the time, doctors only removed the knife handle, fearing that pulling the blade from his head would cause brain damage.
Somehow I doubt that was the doctors' concern.

Obviously, he’s president of the local Procrastinators Club . . . oh, wait a minute. He’s meaning to start one of those but hasn’t got around to it yet.

Ping-a-ling-to-the-Randall-thing.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.

It’s amazing he didn’t die from the initial wound, but almost as amazing that he didn’t die of infection over the 3 year period. It’s not likely your average attempted murderer care much about the sterility of his knife.

More importantly, did he win the fight? Hmmm, good point, I'll say that since our knife-headed friend wasn't in jail, he probably lost...:=)
