Sports Writers on a conservative site?
Sports Journalists (term used loosely) are notoriously more liberal than “regular” journalists.
racing?
cars, horses, dogs, or people?
Salena Zito is a FReeper. She’s a newspaperwoman in Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and writes for Townhall, as well. Her handle is her name.

A horse is in the lead! Now another one takes the lead..
That’s how it’s done, race fans, look at that horse run!
Number five on the inside, coming up... YES! Number five

And the winner is....Beetlebum!
Have you been enjoying the meet at Monmouth. I usually jut go with the Chicago tracks but friends tell me it’s been pretty exciting in your neck of the woods.
Arlington closing this weekend then Hawthorne opens up the next weekend.
Does it involve Danica Patrick, resisting arrest charges, and three law enforcement officers who required treatment at a hospital?
Jus’ a rumor..

What kind of racing?
Saratoga is #1, and Keeneland is #2. (I'll be missing my first Keeneland Meet in quite some time, as I'm traveling to an overseas wedding leaving on Monday.)
Monmouth is probably #3. (Ahead of Del Mar, or maybe tied with Santa Anita, and not counting old Hialeah which was way ahead of any track, or any place, anywhere. I have not been to Arlington.) But there's a limit to how much race track time I have. So usually I've been going once a year to Monmouth. This year I went three times. Two of those times were on days when Saratoga was racing. This was the first time since my first visit to Monmouth in 1967 that I was actually there on a day when Saratoga was open.
I'm not one of those who has to see Grade I racing. I like beautiful race tracks. I can bet on maidens and claimers, just as happily as stakes horse. But the Monmouth strategy generated higher interest and attendance which also is important. I think they'll be repeating it next summer. Maybe you'll make a visit?

Just join Bleacher Report, like I did. One of my articles about the Miami Heat got printed many weeks ago, and they have editors on staff so just try it out.
Usually live at Arlington and betting parlour for the Hawthorne meet. Would love to visit Monmouth. Would love to visit Saratoga sometime. A friend of mine would go to Saratoga with her dad every year.
Love to watch stakes races but the real bread and butter is claiming/maiden races. I love it when I can find a horse cycling up that others are ignoring. But that is getting harder and harder.
I found Keeneland hard since the meet is only one month. Hard to get any cycles to work with. but they do have nice races.
