Justin Bieber Has Dedicated Servers at Twitter

Justin Bieber uses 3% of Twitter resources at any moment. According to a Twitter employee—talking to designer Dustin Curtis—Bieber has "racks of servers dedicated to him. I'm sure this will excite his haters (hello 4chan!) even more. Updated

Dustin confirmed to us that his tweet is not a joke. He was told about it by a Twitter employee. Since Bieber is almost a perennial trending topic, I'm not surprised. Still, and given the 180 million unique visitors every month, that's quite an achievement.

What is really important, however, is this: Now, every time that whale pops, you will have one more reason to slap him. [Twitter]

Updated: The Twitter employee told Dustin that most big users have their own dedicated Twitter servers. [Twitter]

I never knew what a Bieber was until I started dating someone with a six yr old. Doesn’t seem like a bad kid. He appears to have a lot of production assistance from questionable folk though.

I assume you haven’t heard of him because you aren’t a 14 year old girl. Trust me, they’ve all heard of him.

I’ve become disillusioned with technology. Some people reading this might remember that post-war television was going to transform and educate America, bringing culture and education to the masses. Live Broadway plays were broadcast in the 50’s. A decade later, TV was seen as a “vast wasteland”. It still is. Then, in the 80’s and 90’s, computers were going to “level the playing field” and turn youth into an army of geniuses who would take us to the stars. Instead we have texting, gabfests with zero useful content and porn.

I once kept up with stuff like this, but now I just don’t give a @$#$ anymore.

I caught my wife listening to one of his songs on YouTube the other day, I immediately hit the reset button on the internet router.

Gladly, I found out a student wanted to sing one of his songs and she wanted to hear it- not that she suddenly regressed a couple of decades.

“The next Leif Garret. He?ll be in rehab soon”

I hope not. He doesn’t seem to be a bad kid. He’s talented for the most part for his age. Like I said earlier though, he’s connected to sketchy characters.

Gizmodo: Justin Bieber's Failed Segway Getaway

(video at link above)

American Canadian (!) Treasure Justin Bieber's physical well-being was endangered this week when his Segway failed to outrun a gawping throng of twelve year old girls. I've never been more thankful for the existence of video cameras.

The incident took place in Glendale, Arizona, where it didn't take long for Bieber's innocent meet-and-greet to turn ugly. Sadly, the pop sensation's Segway skills are nowhere near those of, say, the Woz, and the video ends with Bieber nigh trampled by the mob. I hope/assume he made it out of there alive.

Don't worry, Justin. Soon enough you'll get that driver's license, and you can leave personal transporters behind like every other folly of youth. [NY Mag]
