If you know about the history of the Klan you know there have been many different organizations that adopted that name. Some lynched and otherwise murdered people, some didn't. But all were despicable and racist, a trait they share with La Raza.
No politican should dignify such an organization by appearing before them for votes. If there was an organization of called The Race that sought political power based on northern European racial identity, and a politican appeared before them, his career would be over. But minority racists get a pass.
