Kitties Rescued By US Marine Soldiers in Afghanistan
Unique Scoop ^ | June 26, 2010 | Scoop

In Afghanistan, in the midst of war, many animals are lost and separated from their family. Many are found later by troops from the US, UK and Canada. Soldiers rescue these animals and get help from rescue groups that help them send these animals out of the country and to a forever loving home that they deserve.

I saw a link to this over at Cute Overload! I thought I'd share it with my fellow FReeper kitty lovers.

Oh gosh, that first pic is adorable. Our men and women in uniform have courage AND hearts. God bless them.

This is one of those baby-killing rapists Jack Murtha told us about, right? He looks like it. Making those kitties suffer, probably kissing them too much. Terrible people we have over there! </S>

“Hey when we are not keeping Heaven packed with fresh souls, we love furry little animals too.”

Glad to see these animals are bring a smile to their faces and helping to keep them mentally stable all the same.

Cats were smart enough to figure out how to really run the show, while at the same time, letting humans think that they were calling the shots. I have three, so I know, I’m just thankful that they let me live here.

I have 3 also, plus 1 dog who is smart enough to know that the cats run the show too! Haha!

As a general warning, be advised that if you travel anywhere overseas and go anywhere outside the confinement of the hotel/tourist area, you will see animal abuse and neglect that will make you cry. There is no other way to say it. Most of the world hideously mistreats cats and dogs, and most other animals, who you will see maimed and starving, hobbling on three legs, trying to find garbage to eat, dying in the street while the natives walk around them, uncaring. I saw enough in Portugal and Spain, The Philippines and Vietnam, to ensure I NEVER revisit these pest hole countries.

Does it surprise you that people outside of the US mistreat animals? Look at how they treat their elderly, their women, children and the handicapped.
