This is not an important question and you can ignore it if you wish.
I have been listening to Rush Limbaugh since 1998 ( only when I can of course), but for the life of me cannot understand why he does the following ( I am sure he has reasons but I've never heard him explain it ) :
* When he mentions Jesse Jackson, he never used the name : "Jesse Jackson", but almost always says -- The Reverend Jackson, in a very strange tone, as if trying to sound very respectful ( I can't quite describe it. Experienced listeners will understand ).
* Where on earth is Rio Linda and why does he refer to that place everytime he mentions some important FACTOID that we all should know...
* Why does he mock the Former Secretary of Labor's name everytime he uses it as in ROBERT REICHSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ( lasting about 10 seconds ).
Let's start with the above 3 first and I'm sure I have other Limbaugh mannerisms I'd like to ask about later.

It's not respect. He's mocking him. Jackson is, of course, nothing like a reverend should be.
1. Robert Reich gives a very Germanic pronunciation to
his own name. Just is poking fun at the little
midget.
2. Rush, while driving through Rio Linda, was shocked
by the amount of abandonded appliances in the yards.
The town has become a symbol for the ‘downtrodden’.
3. The Reverend Jesse is a poking fun at this
so called reverend. He is no more reverend than my
dog. Just ask his bastard child by one of his concubines.
I have never understood why he calls Al Gore Algore (as if it is one word).

This is ALL Bushes fault.
I am just now beginning to look at the comments, so maybe others have brought this up, but I quit listening to Limbaugh after I finally got tired of hearing him say, “I was born to host and you were born to listen.” What an insulating SOB thing to say, as though the listenership was composed of blobs with craniums just waiting to be filled with the Words of the Master.
That and the many times he has claimed to be infallible finally exceeded my interet in his political analysis.

There’s an audio recording somewhere of Reich himself doing just that. Rush has played that bit on some occassions. It’s funny. Reich was being interviewed a number of years ago and he exagerated his last name for some weird reason. Rush took that and ran with it.

He is mocking Jackson by imatating the way the late William F. Buckley usd to pronounce Jackson’s name.
I think that's because Slick Willy always referred to him as Sen. Al Gore or Vice President Al Gore instead of Sen. Gore or Vice President Gore. When he did it sounded like all one word.
