SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco became the first city in the nation to restrict cell phone sales Tuesday after the city’s board of supervisors approved a new law that requires stores to provide details on phone radiation.

Overcoming strong lobbying efforts from cell phone companies, the city’s board of supervisors approved the new law 10-1, which will go into effect February 2011.

San Francisco isn’t a place to leave ones heart. Just a place to leave.

And the capitalist ignorant are going blame AT&T, Apple, Verizon and who ever else that they are gouging them.

In reality it’s the fricking government that they voted for like Zero and now are diverted in the reason why they are being F+cked.

The capitalist ignorant will sue AT&T, Apple, Verizon and win then they will raise cellphone prices to pay for it.
It is a never ending cycle and it is getting tiresome..

Not much, maybe 1-50mw around 2.5GHz transmitted directly into your brain. I doubt it’s what nature intended.

Nature probably didn’t intend shoes or eyeglasses either. Can nature intend?

Actively transmitiing rf energy into you ear, just is not natural. Wearing shoes and glasses, seems not to be the same thing.

Even without the unit in your ear, the waves from the devices of others still pass through your body.

Yes, but the intensity diminishes by the square of the perpendicular distance from the source.

I wish just once that a company would recognize these socialist a-holes are out to get them, grow a spine, and remove their products from markets that pass laws against them. How would all those SF losers react if they had to leave the city to buy a cell phone?

Radio waves are non ionizing. They cause harm only through heating effect of cell tissue. At the signal levels used in cell phones, blue tooth devices etc there is not enough power generated to create any measurable heating effect.
If you are sitting in front of a CRT computer monitor or watching TV you are likely being exposed to low levels of ionizing radiation, the kind that can cause cell damage directly, if exposure levels are high enough. Even then, the levels of external exposure is less than the exposure you receive daily from the food you eat.
This law is based on fear mongering ignorance, as is usually the case.

Shoes started altering/evolving/degrading/destroying the feet of humans several thousand years ago. There’s an entire branch of archeology devoted to the study.

Eyeglasses could do the same over enough generations.

I agree with this new law,

I have kept an older phone that was the lowest RF emission phone marketing by my provider at the time. It is my choice, as an informed consumer.

The problem is the amount of effort it takes to find the link below:

Mostly though, with cell phones and bluetooth headsets, it’a pretty clear, unattenuated shot right through the ear canal. Probably over an inch before it gets much resistance.
