Her mug was worse than her bite.
Miss Ellie, a cock-eyed Chinese Crested Hairless dog who took top honors at the Animal Planet 2009 "World's Ugliest Dog" pageant, has died after a long career in show business and years of do-gooding for animal shelters.
She was 17.
The tiny pooch, who hailed from Pigeon Forge, Tenn., won hearts with her bug-eyed stare, lolling tipsy tongue and shock of blond Chewbacca hair.

A few years ago I saw on television the “World’s Ugliest Dog Show”. Miss Ellie won, of course, and her owner is a lovely woman who does not look like either Miss Ellie or a particular Washington journalist who just won’t retire!

I don’t even think that Miss Ellie was ugly. She had a cute little face. Sam was another story, but I bet he was a sweetie.
You can tell I love them all. Especially since I haven’t twisted Miss Hissy Slashy’s head off yet! She does have relapses when the Feliway runs out.
