Cat Mourns for Lost Friend (Sad Video)

Check out this video from Turkey of a stray cat comforting his fallen friend. As I watched this video, it made me aware of the lost feeling those who do not believe in God must have when a loved one dies. After all, If they have no God to believe in, then they do not have comfort when they lose a loved one.

Further more, if they do not have Christ, then they also do not understand that through Him there will be a resurrection of the dead. Some to eternal life and others to eternal damnation.  I cannot fathom how it must feel to not have that hope to cling to in this world.

Like this cat who will never see its loved one again, so too the lost who have no faith in Christ will never be reunited with their loved ones again. Think about those who have no faith when you watch this video, then maybe like me, you will find yourself shedding a tear for them also.

For those of you who would like to learn about the resurrection and the reunion you can have with your loved ones who passed away.  I offer you the Gospel of peace and love.  Please pray to Jesus and ask Him to forgive you for your sins, and He will be true to His promise and your life will begin a new.

In those quiet moments in the still of the night
Remember to rejoice and celebrate life
Do not think of me gone and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on the grain
I am the gentle autumn's rain
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in flight
I am the soft stars that shine
You will hear my gentle voice
and remember to rejoice
Never give up your fight
and remember always
to Celebrate Life

I broke down in tears when I watched this. I showed it to ,my usually hard hearted husband and even he shed a tear for the cat.

Even if we believe in Christ we still feel that loss. Our soul says, “they are in a better place”. Our heart feels the loss. Toby Keith wrote a song after the death of Wayman Tisdale...”Cryin’ For Me”. When I hear it I cry and think of those I have lost.

One of those morons ran over the cat and they are standing around talking and one is taking a video? It may not be dead and just needs care.

I understand your point. But it breaks my heart. Accidents happen when cats roam but you don’t ignore you ran them over. If you have any heart at all.

Today’s technology and the realities of resource shortages in a non First World country like Turkey makes it far easier and cheaper for someone to shoot a video and show it on You Tube than it is to take an injured animal to a veterinarian.

That being said, the second cat does not even look injured at first glance. No visible blood shed, no visible mayhem. With a little effort but no harm to them, I could get two of my own cats to pose like this. Especially with a little tuna juice strategically applied. I wouldn’t believe every sob story that comes across the internet without proof.

By the way, all cats go to heaven. Outside are the dogs.... (Seriously, no subhuman animal has been gifted with the unique moral sense required for a hell to be just or for heaven to be a reward.)

I saw a similar scene in a driveway. One cat, which was lying atop another, ran off when I approached. The one on which he was lying was dead, probably after being hit by a car. I was wondering if the cats had been companions, perhaps raised together.

I certainly hope so. When I get there, I hope to see Blanco, Nannette, Two Tone, Allie, Kitty, and the other cats with whom I have shared my life.

There are similar videos showing mourning by dogs and chimps. My brother once even saw a raccoon drag its dead, car struck companion to the side of the street.

Even non-mammals can display complex emotions. My folks have a cockatiel who adores my mother and frequently chirps and sings to her. The bird also mopes and nearly stops eating when she is out of town, and then celebrates by chirping and singing with enthusiasm when she returns.

One time though, when my mother returned after an unusually long absence of ten days, the bird was utterly silent. My mother approached his cage, but to the astonishment of us all, he snubbed her by turning his back to her -- and even looked over his shoulder to make sure that my mother realized she was being snubbed.

The point having been made, the next day, all was forgiven and the bird was back to normal. I still marvel that a creature with a brain the size of a pea can exhibit such complicated, human-like behavior.

True that.

We had a little black cat come to us as a stray who had been run over. No blood at all. But lots of pain with a broken leg.

I hope it was a cat who just could sleep through anything.

I can’t bear helpless animals being hurt. I am still seething over the Oakland police officer taking a glock and 7 shots to a harmless cornered baby deer and then turning around and smiling like he had just done the big hunt of the century.

I cannot concieve of hoping that God does not exist.

That is very interesting. You don’t think of cats behaving that way because they are not pack animals like dogs. You would expect that from dogs. We have two cats and two dogs and the cats despise each other.
