Whatever you call any person born within the United States, that live birth results is an American citizen by right of birth.
Time has come to declare all tribal nations void.
Best, R.
You do realize “First Peoples” is as ridiculously PC as “Native Americans”?
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH INDIANS???????
You pale faces are always betraying your agreements!
As far as the "first ones" or whatever that is, never heard the phrase before...sounds like a liberal thing to me.
People from India are Indians and it gets confusing.
Ummm. This isn’t, and never was, India?
I heard a British comedian back in the 90’s who said that, because of political correctness, one midwestern state was changing its name to Native Americana.
I prefer to use the terms Dot-Indians and Feather-Indians to differentiate between the Indians Columbus found when he discovered the Americas and the ones he thought he found.
Can they prove they were first?
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH INDIANS???????”
What is wrong is the spelling - it’s “Injuns”!
I’m Cherokee and my family call ourselves either Cherokee or Indians. Whenever I say “Indian” to a PC person and they try to correct me, I point that out and it shuts them right up.
People from India are Indians. The redskins are Injuns.
Problem solved.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH INDIANS???????
Nothing...except that they are not. They are members of hundreds of nations.
Confused
I prefer “Siberian Americans” myself. I also doubt that they were th eonly early settlers here, especially on the East Coast where Solutrean artifacts have been found.
Keltik,
I do understand you are an ignorant person.
“First People”, IMHO, is an honorable and correct way to distinguish between the people who my ancestors encountered when they arrived and were the second known people to contest and settle the land.
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH INDIANS???????”
Wael, for one thing, they were not INDIANS. No more than today they are Native Americans. They were and remain as the First People.
R.
If I were trying to get to New York, and accidentally ended up in Philly, I wouldn’t call Philadelphians New Yorkers.
Everyopne is an African-(Current Place they live).
Or “Rift-Valley-Current Place they live)ian”.
Yeah, my better half’s great grandmother was a full blood Potawatomi and the word ‘indian’ did’t bother them either.
